Daylight savings time is coming up, so you are going to want to be prepared. I usually don’t mind daylight savings time, but when we have to change our clocks a head, it can get difficult, especially with children. Having to get back on your schedule can be very difficult when the time is changing.
According to new national sleep survey from Sleep Number, over half (54 percent) of the respondents don’t feel they are getting enough sleep to be at their best. Do you feel like you get enough sleep? I never feel like I’m getting enough sleep and with daylight savings time it’s going to be worse.
Survey results indicate that people who use devices in bed are more likely to feel they don’t get enough sleep (51 percent). I normally watch Netflix before going to bed. This means for daylight savings time I’ll have to make sure not to watch anything an hour before I go to bed. I’m usually on the computer working right til I go to bed as well. I’ll have to make sure I shut down my computer an hour before bed as well. That way I’ll get a good nights rest. Are you from the Western region? I’m actually from Western Wisconsin. People in the Western region of the U.S. are the biggest tech-in-bed offenders, with 66 percent of respondents bringing devices to bed. Make sure you turn those off before going to bed during daylight savings time!
Fifty-eight percent of people wish they knew more about how to improve the quality of their sleep, yet only 16 percent actually monitor their sleep (versus 41 percent who track exercise and 43 percent who track diet). And, women are more likely to focus on improving their sleep compared to men.
You can check out more Sleep Number Tips on their website. Daylight savings time is March 8th, so make sure to check out all these tips so you can get a great nights rest. I plan to do a lot of the tips they showed. Going to bed 15 minutes earlier and getting up 15 minutes earlier is one of them I’m going to do. I want to make sure my whole family is getting all the sleep they need so they can wake up feeling great.
What are some of the ways you prepare yourself for daylight savings time?

I know how you feel! I’m not a fan either.
This sounds great! Definitely a great way to get your prepared for springing ahead!
Defiantly! I’ve always hated when we had to change the clocks a head. I’m hoping these tips will help this year.
I’m actually looking forward to Day Light Savings this year! With a toddler who rises with the sun, I’m looking forward to the extra hour of sleep I’ll get each morning though I’m sure the first day or two might be rough!
We actually lose an hour of sleep since the clocks get turned a head by an hour. I’m just hoping these tips will help out this time. I’m planning on going to bed earlier for sure.
The dreaded weekend has arrived. I love when we get to turn our clocks back and get an extra hour, but losing an hour is the pits.
I agree! I hate losing an hour. My kids usually get up at the same time every day. Lets see how it goes this weekend.
Oh how i hate Daylight savings! when it is in the Autumn, no need to prepare. We just relish in the extra hour. But the SPring. Oh how i hate it! It takes like 2 weeks to get used to the change of waking up an hour earlier. I haven’t found anything that helps me. I just hate it. lolol
I know how you feel. I feel the same way. I don’t mind when it goes back an hour but once it goes a head then that’s a different story. I’m trying some of these tips this year and I hope they work.
Ohhhh thanks for the remember that this is coming up! And for the tips, I sure do not like this time of year, when we LOSE an hour!
You’re welcome. I hate losing an hour as well.
Ah, this is our last daylight savings time in AZ. I will be so sad when we have to participate!
I didn’t realize they’re going to start participating now. That’s going to be a huge change!
I do not know anyone that enjoys Daylight Savings! My family takes a while to get used to the change, and everyone is so grumpy until that happens!
I know how that goes! Everyone seems to be grumpy. I’m actually use to it, so it doesn’t really bother me much.
Now that my kids are older, daylight savings isn’t an issue anymore. It was brutal when they were younger, though.
Be thankful for that. My kids are still young, so they have to learn to adjust. I think we all do fine though.
Oh man, you literally just reminded me how we will be losing an hour! Yikes! This is going to throw my kids sleeping off big time!
I hate that we lose an hour as well, but I love that it means it’s closer to Spring!
Thanks for the tips, they affect us so much, but this year the dog might have a harder time! LOL. He’s just a puppy, I can imagine I’ll be letting him out at 4am!
You’re welcome. They don’t usually affect us to much, but it can be a pain. I’m just glad it means Spring is coming!
I”m just glad it’s spring break this week so we can sleep in Monday if we need too!
Lucky for you! Our spring break for school for the kids is at the end of the month.
Such great tips! I never have time adjusting… just with sleeping at all!
They are some really great tips. I hope to get some good sleep tonight.
Ah, yes Daylight savings. .or what we Arizona residents call “why did you move our TV programs around”
Did Arizona start doing daylight savings this year or is that next year?
Great tips! All of the time changes always take awhile to get adjusted to for me.
I agree. They do take some time to adjust.
