I went on my first vacation in over 6 years this past March…we knew we were going but didn’t start REALLY planning until just a few weeks before! 🙂

My family has not been on a vacation yet. But I am planning one to happen in the next couple of years.

While I don’t typically take a long vacation, my daughter and I attend a number of anime conventions (she sells her books and art at most of them) around the Midwest and east coast, so we take several “mini” vacations every year. Sometimes we plan last minute, but most of the time we’re already planning for the following year when we leave the convention. In order to make sure we got the hotel we like, we have already reserved a room in Baltimore for Otakon next summer – it’ll be held August 12-14, so it’s over a year away.

About 3-5 months in advance. If it is a very large one, maybe more time to save up the money to go.
