Jewel Scent Candle Review

You have all heard about the candles with jewelry inside, right? If you haven’t heard about this before, they have candles with jewelry hidden inside. I was lucky enough to have the chance to review a candle from Jewel Scent.

Jewel Scent candles are hand poured natural soy candles. Each of these candles comes with a ring inside that is valued anywhere from $10 to $7,500. These candles can burn for up to 100 hours and they are 16 oz. They’re made in California and they have been making luxury candles for over thirty years.


I chose the Orchard Apple Jewel Scent candle to review. I thought the scent of this candle was amazing. It smelled a lot like apples and I was so happy to have chosen this candle. I love the smell of apples so I was excited that this candle was true to the scent. With other candles you don’t always get the true scent in the candles. I’ve had other candles before that just don’t have anything to do with their scents they should be like. From the moment I opened up the lid I knew this candle was going to be great once it started to burn.


I was burning this candle for hours before I got to the ring. I actually decided to pour some of the wax in to a mold so that I could get to the ring faster. I’m sure if I wouldn’t have done that then it would have taken about twelve hours to a day to get to the ring. When they say this candle burns for about 100 hours I really do believe that. The ring wasn’t even half way down in the candle and it took many hours to get to. I love that the candle will burn for a very long time. I’ve had some candles that hardly burn at all or they lose their scent to quickly. This candle definitely kept it’s scent too.


I was very excited once I got down to the ring. It was wrapped in foil to protect it and it was also in a little bag once you unwrap the foil. I usually use tweezers or a fork to take it out since it will be hot and it’s easier then using your hands and getting them full of wax. I also used a paper towel to wipe off all the extra was that got around the foil otherwise it makes it harder to open up the bag when you get to your ring.


I was very surprised to find this beautiful ring inside. I didn’t see any markings on the ring but I still think it’s very pretty. I’m happy with the ring that came from my candle. Check out my video below if you’d like to see me revealing the ring I got from my candle.

  1. Love the ring but I think I love the candle even more. It just seems like it really is great quality! Now what are the odds of me getting a $7500 ring? 😉

    • do you know how to get a hold of them? still waiting on my shipment from over a week ago. Can’t find their number and they haven’t responded to my emails.

    • I ordered 2 candles and a bar soap from JewelScent, and I received my package in 5 days. I don’t think that is very long at all, especially since the shipping was FREE when buying more than one. One was a gift, and the candle I bought for myself had a beautiful pink ring in it. Haven’t found the ring in the bar soap yet.

          • Good Luck with their customer service. I have sent numerous emails and am still waiting for them to correct their error. I gave one for a gift and they put a size 9 ring in size 6 candle . When I emailed they wanted my receipt, photos of the candle and the bottom of the candle and the small paper that had the appraisal number. I told them it was a $10 ring I wasn’t asking for an expensive replacement just a new $10 ring that cost them pennies. This was a Christmas gift so receipt long gone and I told them I wasn’t asking my friend to send me pix. They have all of the invoices from their products but I emailed what they had sent me. Still waiting for the replacement ring. They acted like a was running a scam, for a $10 ring? I had placed numerous orders for Christmas but they don’t care , once they have your money they don’t care.
            Look at blogs there are many complaints ie cracked candles they won’t replace etc

          • Same as below…I ordered three candles…two size 9’s and one size 8. I received two size 9’s and a size 5. I sent photos and did everything they said. When the order was looked at they said I ordered a 5. I was very disappointed. I won’t be buying anything else from them and family and friends feel the same.

    • Surprisingly, I actually received my order within a week, but I do know that the processing of some orders does take a little time. I was ecstatic as soon as I received my package. The company truly stands by their product.

    • Sorry you had that experience, I have ordered candles many times (about 8-10 ) and never had that problem. Actually just the opposite, sometimes I was shocked to get it so soon! I hope you can try one more time and have a great and fun experience…

    • I ordered two candles and three soaps from them. They were expected arrival was Monday. To my surprise, they arrived today, Friday! I am one happy gal!

    • Most jewelry will be lower then the price of the candle but not always. Very few will have the higher priced jewelry but it sure would be awesome to get one of those highly priced pieces. 🙂

    • I purchased my candle with two free rings, I received my order within 1 week.
      The two free rings were in a black pouch in box, one appraised at $35, the other $10.
      My ring in the candle was about 2″ from the top, the ring appraised at $46.
      The scent is wonderful (white gardenia) and lasts throughout the entire candle without being overpowering.
      I have tried Prize Candle, the scent is great but the candle is half the size for the same price.
      The rings in Prize candle were larger sizes. All three rings in Jewel Scent were size 5. But, you can pick your ring size with Jewel Scent. I guess if i buy another one, i will pick a larger size.

  2. I ordered 5 days ago and my order still shows pending. I just tried to call the toll free number to ask when it will ship and it’s not a valid number. I sent an email and havn’t received a confirmation yet. I will give them a day or 2 to respond but if nothing am going to have to cancel my payment. Fortunately I paid with PayPal and reporting something like this and getting money back is not that difficult.

    • I’ve been hearing of this with a few companies that the shipping has become very slow. A lot of these companies were starting off slow and grew very quickly. I’m sure during the holidays it was a bit crazy for them. I agree that waiting a whole month is absolutely nuts though!

  3. My candle came very quick, just 5 days after I ordered! I ordered jasmine flower and it smells very nice! Can’t wait to see what my gift is!

  4. I stumbled upon this review and after reading the comments, decided to post. I signed on as a consultant for JewelScent back in October, the company was quite new and did not anticipate the popularity of the product. There were a lot of stock and shipping delays in November and December and I also shared in some of your disappointment about the delays. All should be working smoothly from now on so don’t give up on JewelScent because their products are amazing (and I am not just saying it as a Consultant). I have never had a candle that produced such wonderful fragrances and the soaps are amazing with the Moroccan Argan oil! If ever there is a problem, email the company (reply to your order confirmation email) and they are very quick to answer. Hope this helps anyone that may have been discouraged!

    • I emailed them, but have not heard back. I never received an email confirmation either. Otherwise, I could have tracked my shipping that way. I placed my order 2/9/14 and I’m still waiting. I paid for shipping cost and should have received between 3 – 5 days according to site.

  5. I ordered the lilac scented soap. It was wonderful, and really does smell like lilacs, which is my favorite flower. The ring I got out of it was very pretty too.

  6. Love my Pumpkin Caramel Candle. Has anyone ever got the same ring twice? I want to order another scent, but don’t want the same ring. Mine is nice, but I don’t like pink & that’s what color I got. Can the ring alone be returned if u get same ring twice?

  8. I am upset with this company, the day I ordered the Cherish candle and another product I entered the code CHERISH and to my surprise it wasn’t on my receipt. So I wrote them an e-mail just shortly after, to ask if they could apply the code for me. They shipped it the next day without a reply to my e-mail. So I figured the matter had been handled. I get my order thinking yay I get a 3 in one deal. To my surprise no necklace. I called about the matter, they stated that since I didn’t contact them about it with in 24 hrs of my order they couldn’t do anything about it. But I e-mailed them way before my 24hrs even came up. So they refused to help me. So I said ok I wish to return the items. Thinking I would get a full refund they said they will not be refunding my shipping costs nor will they pay for me to return the items. So I have to pay for shipping twice? For something I’m not keeping. This company is something else. So either they need to help me out or I will be contacting the BBB to get this resolved

    • Hi there! I’m so sorry for your experience. I’m a JewelScent consultant, and I would love to help you out! When you called, did you tell them you sent out that email? Your situation reminds me of a similar experience. I had a customer that had trouble with a promo code, and she messaged me on FB about it. I did not see her message until the next day because her message was sent to my “Other” folder in my Inbox. By then, the promo code was already over by midnight the night she messaged me. So I called customer service for her, and I told them that the code did not work for her and that she had messaged me on FB the night before. Because her message to me had a time stamp, she was able to submit a screen shot of her FB message to me, and customer service was still able to apply the promo code for her. Please give them a call back and reference this message if you want. My name is Claraine. I’m really surprised with your experience! They should be able to honor it if you can show that email you had sent them showing the time and date of the email sent.   9. Go to your sent file and copy and paste the original email you wrote to them send it to their customer service ..I have never had a negative response from customer service at JewelScent. They are always helpful and have always settled in the customers favor.

  11. I ordered & received my lavender candle. Candle does not have much aroma. I did enjoy burning the candle & awaiting my surprise ring. That was the fun part. Now here comes the not so fun part. The ring is quite pretty. Online appraisal of $32.00. But after I wore it a few days my finger started to turn black under where the ring band sits. I did not wear the ring while showering, or sleeping or even doing dishes or housework. Just when I was out & about. So I’m disappointed & to all of you out there I can only say “Buyers Beware”.

  12. I feel I should let you know that I have been spoiled by my husband. I have many expensive rings, necklaces & earrings. I am no stranger to fine & expensive jewelry. So what you are actually saying is that I cannot tolerate cheap jewelry. This takes me back to grade school when we all used to exchange what we called “friendship rings”. Please explain to me why everybody’s fingers turn greenish/black? I did not say this was a bad product. I am merely stating that it is for fun & not to be taken seriously. It’s a cheap ring – I stated that. I just want people to know that it’s only for fun. Is that so bad? Basically I am an avid candle lover & I thought this would be a fun adventure. At the time I purchased I also bought 2 others. One for my daughter & one for my niece. Do we take it seriously? No – it’s for fun. Guess I’ll stick to the best candles which are Woodwick.

  13. $15.99 for a 5 ounce bar of soap is too high. Really thought the bar of soap would be larger. $9.95 for shipping really!!! total $25.94. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Won’t happen again. jc

  14. J.carlson the soaps are more on the expensive side however you are getting a gift in it alone worth $10 or more. We’re you not satisfied with the soap?   15. I was very disappointed with my ring. I asked for a size 9. It is not a size 9. Never had this to happen before. And I did not get free shipping.
