If you’re looking for a really good movie to watch, I would highly suggest checking out Lady Bird. If you haven’t already seen this one, it is a must see. This movie is about a girl in High school. Honestly this reminds me a lot about myself back in high school. There are a lot of ups and downs throughout high school, and you’ll see them throughout this movie. Everyone is so great in this movie. I thought they were wonderful actors and actresses. The whole movie was amazing and a must see.
I also love the relationship between Lady Bird and her mother. Just like most relationships, Lady Bird and her mother don’t always see eye to eye. There are some truly touching moments, and then you’ll see some hurtful type of moments between the two. They may not always get a long, but the bond between the two is incredible. It’s wonderful to see this story and how their bond is so special. Not everyone will see things the same way, and I think that’s what makes this movie so special. It’s nice to see everyone’s side.
In Lady Bird, which marks Greta Gerwig’s (Frances Ha, 20th Century Women) directorial debut, Gerwig reveals herself to be a bold new cinematic voice, excavating both the humor and pathos in the turbulent bond between a mother and her teenage daughter. Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson (Ronan) fights against, but is exactly like, her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom (Metcalf), a nurse working tirelessly to keep her family afloat after Lady Bird‘s father (Letts) loses his job. Set in Sacramento, California, in 2002, amidst a rapidly shifting American economic landscape, Lady Bird is an affecting look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home.
Christine “Lady Bird” MacPherson is a high school senior from the “wrong side of the tracks.” She longs for adventure, sophistication, and opportunity, but finds none of that in her Sacramento Catholic high school. LADY BIRD follows the title character’s senior year in high school, including her first romance, her participation in the school play, and most importantly, her applying for college.
My mother and I get a long very well. I can remember a lot back when I was little. We use to do a lot together growing up. She use to do daycare, and I would always help her. It was an incredible experience because I loved kids and still do to this day. I do some daycare myself now as well. I don’t run my own daycare like she did, but I do watch kids when needed, plus I have my own two daughters as well. My mother and I would spend a lot of time together watching kids, and that is something I’ll never forget. My parents ended up splitting years ago, but I’m still close with my mother. We talk often and like to visit as much as possible.
If you haven’t already seen this movie, I really hope that you do check it out. It’s already out, so you can pick up your own copy any time. I think many of you are really going to enjoy this movie. I think it’s a wonderful one to watch with your loved ones.
Do any of you have any great mother daughter stories? If so, I’d love to hear them.
