The first thing you'll want to do is get your eggs ready to be hard boiled. You can do this however you want. I prefer to use my instant pot. If you're using an instant pot, you can put about 2 cups of water in there and set your eggs inside. I like to use a silicon egg tray inside for my eggs to sit on. Then you can use the manual button and cook for 4 minutes.
Once your eggs are done, let them sit out until they have cooled off completely. You don't want them warm or hot when you're going to be handling them.
Once they have cooled off completely, you can get the water ready. Get four cups and put a cup of water in each of the cups.
Then you can add in the food coloring. I love to use food coloring gel just because I think it works best at keeping the eggs dyed a darker color. Use as much or as little as you'd like. I usually just put a small amount inside.
Now you can also add in the vinegar to each cup. You'll want to use about 1 tsp of vinegar in each cup.
Then you can put them inside your fridge for at least four hours or overnight. I think overnight works best because it lets the eggs sit longer and get that beautiful color you're looking for.
Once they have sat long enough, take them out of the fridge and start peeling off the shell. Now you should have that beautiful crackle effect!
