Baked Apples With Granola

28 May, 2015 by KatBp 58 Comments

I decided to make baked apples with granola. I have never made anything like this before, so this was all new to me. I’m use to using granola for cereal, parfait or for toppings. I wanted to make something different that would be delicious as well.

baked apples

Ingredients:

  • 2 Apples of Your Choice (I used Golden Delicious)
  • 1 Cup Golden Girl Granola-The Original
  • 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 TBS Butter
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • Raisins

Instructions:

IMG_5480

Cut the apples in half. Then you’re going to want to scoop out the inside. Make sure to leave some in there. I would say to leave about 1/4 of the apple still inside. I found that a melon baller really works great for scooping out all the apple.

Next I mixed up the granola, butter (melted), brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Then you can take a spoon and scoop the mixture in to the apples.

You will want to bake these at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. I put mine in a casserole dish and I’d recommend the same because it may make a mess and you don’t want it to go all over the oven. Once they’re done you can put some raisins on top.

This was a fun recipe to make. I hope you all enjoy it. It’s very quick and simple too!
