My Daughter & Niece Running For Little Miss Princess

My daughter (in purple) and niece (in a dress) are both in 1st grade. In our town when you’re in 1st grade you have the option to run for Little Miss Princess. This is a chance for all the girls to run to become the little princess. The morning of the coronation they were able to walk to in the parade. This was their first time ever walking in the parade, so they were excited about it.

The photo above is of the girls after the parade was over. My mother in law had bought them crowns, earrings, bracelets and necklaces so they could walk in the parade looking like princesses. They really loved being able to wear all the jewelry and the crowns.

The photo above is of my daughter the night of the coronation. This was taken after they walked down the isle and on to the stage. She wanted to wear her pink Hello Kitty dress to the coronation, so that’s what I let her wear. She even had these cute white shoes to go with it that matched the dress nicely. Every girl had their name written down on paper and a winner was drawn. Although neither my niece or daughter won, they still had a wonderful time.

My mother and father in law got both of the girls some flowers after the coronation was over. They wanted to make sure the girls still felt special even thought they didn’t win. They were both very excited to just have entered and had the chance to run for the princess. Each girl got these pinwheels and a small bag of goodies for running for the princess. I’m glad both of the girls had a lot of fun. They know that winning isn’t everything and they were so happy to have had a chance. I was happy they got to experience it. We’ll all be able to look back at these photos and enjoy them too.

If you have daughters who have the chance to do this in their town, than I say go for it. This was a wonderful experience for my daughter and niece. Of course you’re going to remember this for the rest of your life too. Your kids will be able to look back when they grow up and I’m sure they’re going to treasure those photos forever.

It looks like they enjoyed themselves and they look adorable. It’s nice to have traditions in town where every girl in that grade gets to participate.

I completely agree. They’ve been doing this for many years. In fact I ran for the little princess when I was little.

How fun, I did a few parades when I was young but nothing this glamorous. It looks like your daughter and niece were completely tickled to become princesses for the day!
