Christmas Dinner With Jennie-O

With the holidays coming up quick, we have to be ready for everything. Cooking is one of the biggest things for me to get ready for. There is so much food to cook to get ready for the holidays. Of course the main meal is one of the most important things, right!? This year my daughters and I went over to my father’s house to have a small Christmas get together. It was just my daughters, myself and my father there. I brought over all the food so that we could have a nice dinner.

Jennie-O sent me their bone-in turkey breast with gravy packet this month, and I was very excited about it. This was the perfect size for us since it was just the four of us having dinner together. What’s really nice about this turkey, is that you don’t have to thaw it out. It’s ready to go in the oven right away after taking it out of the freezer. This is such a time saver! All you have to do is put the turkey in the roasting pan, keep the clear bag on it though. You’ll want to put about six slits in the bag and lift the bag up some. Then you can put the turkey in the oven at 375 degrees. The pop up timer will show, so it’s easier to know when the turkey is done. You’ll also want to make sure the thermometer shows 165 degrees and that’s how you’ll know the turkey is ready. For us, it took about 2 1/2 hours for the turkey to be done. This turkey saved us so much time!

Our turkey turned out great! It cooked so well and it was very juicy, just the way we love it. Our house smelled amazing as the turkey was cooking too. Since it came with a gravy packet, we used the extra drippings to make the gravy. That turned out great as well. We love using drippings from the turkey for gravy because it gives it a great flavor.

DSC_0256

We made an amazing dinner with lots of great food. The turkey was a huge hit for us. It was very juicy and full of flavor. I actually didn’t even use the gravy for the turkey since it was already juicy. However, I did dip the turkey in the gravy sometimes because I love it that way. We mainly used the gravy for the potatoes. It was amazing too!

DSC_0261

I’m so happy to say that everyone enjoyed it very much. I honestly can say that Jennie-O has the best turkey I have had. I have never had a turkey taste so juicy and have so much flavor before. I’ll be sticking to Jennie-O turkeys from now on.

Jennie-O

We had a few leftovers, but we did eat a lot of the turkey. I’m actually glad we have some leftovers so that I can make something else with the turkey. I know the turkey can make many recipes taste amazing. Turkey is one of my favorite meats, so there is plenty of things to make with it. Turkey sandwiches are one of my favorites, and they’re simple to make. That or we will just be having turkey with some vegetables again. Either way, I’m very glad we were able to enjoy the Jennie-O turkey.

If you haven’t already picked up a turkey for Christmas, I highly suggest you grab one from Jennie-O. I don’t think you’re going to be disappointed. My family certainly loved it.

Jennie-O is the best turkey bar-none -whether it’s a breast or a whole bird. Some of those other brands are so greasy. Blech.
