A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to start eating healthier. I always felt tired and I just wanted to be able to eat better. I honestly didn’t find it that hard to eat healthier because I already loved so many foods. It’s just about making sure you’re eating what’s right for you and cutting out all the junk. I’ve already loved fruits and vegetables, so I knew that part wouldn’t be too hard. The main thing for me was to make sure the meals I make don’t have a ton of calories and that I’m eating the right portions of food. It took some time, but I now know a lot more about what’s healthy for me.
Since I already love just about all kinds of fruits, I knew that a dehydrator would be a great way to get fruits in a different way. Instead of always eating fresh fruit, a dehydrator can make all your fruit dried. It’s another great way to get in all your fruit each day. I was lucky enough to be able to get a dehydrator for a review from Tribest life. I was sent the Sedona Express dehydrator to review.
I’ve never owned or used a dehydrator before, so this was very nice to have. I’ve been wanting one for a long time now, so I was excited to finally be able to make some dried products. This dehydrator can hold many foods. Since I’ve never used a dehydrator by myself, I decided to make some dried fruit with it. I thought this would be the perfect start to trying out the dehydrator. I knew it would be simple to just slice up the fruit we wanted and put them on the trays.
This is a very simple to use. All of the buttons are on the front panel and it’s easy to tell exactly what to do from the buttons. Of course the first thing you want to do is plug it in, then you’ll hit the on/off switch on the left side. There are booklets that came with this product, so they help let you know what types of temperatures should be used for each product. We cooked different varieties of fruit, so we stuck with a temperature that was close to the same for all. There is even a timer you can use so that you tell when your food should be done. I love using the timer because I don’t always remember when I put something in the dehydrator, so it’s nice to have it go off once it’s finished. The timer can go all the way up to 99 hours! There is even a start/pause button, so when you’re ready to get things going you can press the start button. If you feel like you need to pause it, you can hit that button again and it will pause. There are also three types of innovative settings. Those include the fast, raw and combo. each of these depend on what you plan on using. The fast mode is great for drying out foods quickly at an average temperature of 167 degrees. This is great for foods like jerky. The raw mode is great for fruits and vegetables. You can set the temperature yourself and it will stay at your desired temperature. The combo mode lets you start the dehydration process at a higher temperature for the first few hours and then it automatically switches to a lower temperature for the remainder of the time. This is great for foods with higher water content like tomatoes and watermelon.
This comes with 11 trays, so you’re able to dry a lot of food at a time. They’re very easy to slide in and out of the dehydrator. If you feel like you don’t want to use them all or don’t need them all, you can always take some of the trays out. Maybe you have bigger foods in there, so you need more space. You can always take them out as well. When we were drying some of the apples, one of the apples was a bit bigger, so we took out a tray so that it would fit better in there.
We decided on making dried apples, bananas and raspberries. It took between 6-8 hours for the apples and bananas to get done. The raspberries took much longer, but we took them out early and my daughters ate them all. They loved the dried fruit, so we are excited to be able to make some more fruit soon. One thing we plan to make soon is jerky! We’re very excited to start making that now that we have a dehydrator. I’ll actually be coming up with some great recipes that I will post on my blog while using the dehydrator. You’ll have to check back on my blog to see what I come up with!

If you’ve been looking for a dehydrator, the Tribest Sedona Express is a wonderful one to have. My whole family has been enjoying using this product and eating all the dried foods that we make from it. We can’t wait to continue to use it and make some more wonderful foods. The next few things on our list to make is jerky and more fruit! We’ve really enjoyed how simple this is to work and how great everything tastes afterwords. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Right! Those fruit snacks are loaded with sugar. At least with the dehydrator you can still get a great taste with your fruits.

I’ve always thought having a dehydrator would be a great idea for kids’ snacks and things. My brother has one and they use it a great deal. It’s so easy to use, even their kids can help!

No, it really doesn’t. I think it takes up less room then some of the dehydrators I’ve seen.
