Hashbrown Potato Breakfast Casserole With Jennie-O

As some of you may know, I’m part of the Jennie-O  Switch Circe Blogger Program. This just means that I get sent some of the Jennie-O products a few times a year and I get to try them out and give my opinion on them. This time I was sent some Mild Turkey Breakfast Sausage along with some Turkey Bacon. When I saw the sausage, I knew exactly what I wanted to try it out with. I wasn’t sure what to make with the bacon, so I thought I’d just cook it up for the family and it by itself. That’s what we normally do with bacon anyways, so that was a great way to have some breakfast as well.

DSC_0652

I decided to make a nice breakfast with these items. I used the turkey sausage for a hashbrown dish. Both of these products were very easy to cook. There is nothing very special that you need to know to cook them up. The bacon can go in a pan like you would always cook bacon, and same goes for the sausage.

DSC_0640

I put the sausage in a pan and chopped it all up in to smaller pieces for my recipe. It cooked very easily and quickly as well.

DSC_0642

I also cooked up some scrabbled eggs and some hashbrown potatoes. Once all of these ingredients were cooked up, I put them all together in a pan and mixed them all up.

DSC_0643

After everything was done cooking, I took out a 13 x 9 casserole dish. I spray it with cooking spray to help it from sticking. Next I put in the sausage, hashbrown potatoes, and eggs. Next I took 1/3 cup of milk and mixed it in as well. Then I sprinkled some shredded cheese on top. You can put as much as you want on top. I put on 3 cups.

DSC_0649

I baked the dish at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. It make take more or less time. You can take it out whenever the cheese has melted on top. This is a great dish for breakfast. My whole family loved it. It was gone quickly. The recipe for this casserole is listed below.

Ingredients:

  • 20 oz. Bag of Simply Potatoes With Onions (Hashbrown Potatoes)
  • 16 oz. Jennie-O Turkey Sausage
  • 8 Eggs
  • 1/3 Cup Milk
  • 3 Cups Shredded Cheese

Instructions: Cook up the turkey sausage and potatoes like you normally would according to the directions. Use the eggs to make scrabbled eggs. Once the three of these are done, you’re going to want to put them in a 13 x 9 casserole dish. I would spray it with cooking spray just to make sure nothing sticks. After that you can put the milk in and mix everything together. Next you just top it with the cheese. You can put more or less cheese if you’d like. You bake it at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

A special thanks to Jennie-O for provided me with the products to make this wonderful recipe. I hope that you’ll give it a try too. The turkey breakfast sausage was amazing. I enjoyed it more than the other sausage that I normally get. I’ll be getting this brand from now on. I also love that turkey sausage is a lot healthier as well.

I hope that you’ll think about making the switch to turkey by checking out all of these great products from Jennie-O. I know my family has been a huge fan of their products for some time now. We’ll be buying many more of their products to make some more great recipes too! Keep an eye on my blog for more recipes with Jennie-O.

I love cooking with turkey. It tastes just as good as beef, and it’s much healthier.

The last time I made something with turkey I screwed it up and I have not been able to try it since because I made it so bad LOL. This looks pretty good I’ll have to attempt it again.

I’m glad to hear you love turkey bacon and sausage as well. It certainly is really good. I’m not sure I would recommend this for a freezer meal though..I only say that because of the milk..but you really don’t have to add milk to this recipe either. It works great with or without it.

I should start cooking with turkey where I’d normally use beef. In the winter I don’t cook with beef which limits what I can make (beef increases my back pain from my injuries). In the other seasons, I can’t use it much. I’ll try this recipe and if I like it, I’ll have a whole new range of foods I can cook and enjoy.
