6 DIY Adorable Ideas for Kids Room

27 September, 2021 by KatBp 36 Comments

This is a guest post.

Kids are usually excited when they get a new bedroom. However, what makes them more excited is the way you decorate their room. Simple things, like posters or pictures of their favorite things can go a long way in making their room their own little space.

Choosing an idea for a kid’s room does not have to be complicated. Instead of adding too much stuff inside the room, adding simple furniture is enough to complete the look of the whole kid’s room. But if you want something more special and unique than the usual, here are some DIY adorable ideas for the kid’s room:

Alphabet Letters Wall Decor

This idea is simple enough to be done by adults or teens, but it will make fantastic results for the kid’s room. You can give the unique look of the letters by combining them with different colors and styles. Just paint each letter with colors that match the room’s theme.

Toys Storage Crate

Toys are usually messy in any room. So, if you can’t bear to see your kids’ stuff scattered on the floor, building something unique like a toy storage crate would be the perfect solution for you. It also will save space if you combine it with other storage boxes that have the same design. You can build storage crates using wood pallets as the primary material. Then, paint them with bright colors to make them more lively.

Bed Headboard

If you think that a headboard is only for the adult bedroom, that’s definitely not the case. Like other ideas mentioned above, you can build your headboard to give a unique touch to your child’s room. You can make it the same as those expensive ones bought from furniture stores by using simple design and finishing it with different materials such as wood or iron for a metallic look. Paint them with bright colors to match your kid’s favorite cartoons and put them on the wall beside the bed.

Message Board

If your kids are already going to school, they will need to do daily homework after school. What better way to organize all of that assignment than building a message board inside the bedroom? You can write down everything they need to remember on this board. They can look at the message board instead of relying on less precise means of remembering things. This idea also saves space because you can put it on the wall and decorate it with cute trinkets to make it look better.

Teepee

Building a teepee inside the kid’s room will make them feel like they are in their mini-adventure world. This idea is perfect for kids who love to play and stay outside. They can use this teepee as their own rest spot. You won’t need too much material to build it. You just need to put some stuff there like a blanket over the wooden poles as well as pillows and rugs to make the floor comfortable. Also, painting the teepee with bright color is a must.

House Bed

A house bed idea is one of the most adorable and creative ideas you can ever find. You probably know that your kids love to play with their own playhouse, so why not just build them a house as their bed? This idea doesn’t need too much material and effort since you just need to assemble some wood and paint and style how your kids want it. If you want an extra, adding a small ladder beside the house will make it more unique.

These ideas might be simple, but you can see that they’re all adorable and creative. So, if you think that your kid’s room looks boring than usual, try to apply these DIY ideas to their room for more delight.

My nieces have a teepee and they love it! So much fun. My older niece is getting a little too tall for it so I think they’ll need to buy a bigger one.

I wanted a house bed for the kids, but we didn’t have the room. We did go with storage crates. It makes it easier with all the toys.

The toy crate and headboards are my favorite. Asides that the crate helps for storage and organization, it can be used to teach the kids how to clean up after themselves
