How many of you enjoy cooking? I actually love to cook for my family. I feel great when I can make a meal that we can all enjoy. Sometimes I just don’t have the time to make something though. It’s always nice to have some great products in the kitchen that can make meal time easier. The usual crock pot is a favorite of mine because you can throw everything in there and within hours it’s done.

Have you ever tried using a pressure cooker before? I received a power pressure cooker xl one to review, and before getting it I had never used one before. I honestly didn’t even really know much about it either. After reading about it more and actually being able to use this product, I was amazed at how quick the food can get done. If you’re wanting to make a meal for your family, but not have to really keep much of an eye on it, then a pressure cooker is a great choice to have. I’m so glad that I have this product in my home now. I know it’s going to be used often.

At first I was going to use this product for canning so that I could start canning items, but I realized I didn’t have the rack that had to go inside it. Since I didn’t have that at the time and I really wanted to try this product out, I decided to make some mac and cheese. This is one of my daughters favorite meals, so I decided I would make this for them.

DSC_0041

I made sure to plug-in the pressure cooker and get things all ready to go. For this mac and cheese I first put in some butter and waited for that to melt.

DSC_0042

Once the butter was melted, I put in some water and elbow macaroni. For this I pressed the chicken/meat butter til the water was all absorbed by the noodles.

DSC_0043

Once that was done, I shut that off and put in the milk and cheese. Then I put the lid on and made sure to lock that. After that I pressed on the rice button and made sure it was on for ten minutes. Then all I had to do was let it do its job and cook the meal for me. Once it’s done it will shut off and switch to warm on its own. I thought that was great that it automatically stopped and switched right over to warm. That means once it’s done it will keep the food warm for you so when you’re ready to eat it’s still warm.

DSC_0044

Once it was done we were able to serve it up right away. My girls and I loved this dish and we will be making this again. I was very happy with the way our mac and cheese turned out. I let my youngest try a little bit at first to make sure she loved it, and since she did I gave her more.

This pressure cooker is an amazing product! I was very surprised to see how fast all the food could cook. I can’t wait to cook up some more recipes with this product. I didn’t have to use much for ingredients for this recipe either. You can find the recipe below if you’d like to try it out for yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of elbow macaroni
  • 3 cups of shredded cheese of your choice
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp. butter

Directions:

Melt the butter in your pressure cooker first. Then add the noodles and water and click the meat button and cook til the water has all been absorbed. Then you want to shut that off and put the cheese and milk in. Then click the rice button and set it for 10 minutes. That’s it! Once the ten minutes are up it will shut off and turn to warm. It’s a simple dish and very delicious!

If you’re looking for a great way to cook up some meals for your family, then I would highly recommend getting the power pressure cooker xl. This has been a great product to have around for us, and I’m excited to continue to use it. I actually just let my father borrow this the other day because he wanted to cook up a roast. I’m sure that it’s going to turn out amazing for him as well! I can come back and let you all know how that goes for him!

What would you love to cook in the power pressure cooker xl?

Honestly, I am happy with my slow cooker. It may be “slow” but I love how my meat dishes turn out – very tender and flavorful. I would love to try cooking in a power pressure cooker, but I am not sure if I am ready to purchase one yet. Thanks for the review.

I need a pressure cooker. I have looked at them but never thought too much about actually getting one. I was not aware that you could cook noodles in them, not sure why :/ That does make me want one now.

This Mac n Cheese sounds amazing. I love it. I should try this recipe, I really think my kids would enjoy it and I like that it doesn’t contain a bunch of processed fillers.

I am very interested in buying a pressure cooker in the near future. I have gotten a slow cooker recently which is great, but sometimes I want to get the food ready straight away

I got the same pressure cooker for mother’s day and wow!! I can’t believe how fast things cook! I’ve made chicken barbecue, and beef stew, this product is just heaven. I’m so tired when I get home from work, but now I don’t have to worry about dinner, I just throw meat and vegetables and the pressure cooker does the rest.

The Power Pressure Cooker XL~ Sounds like an awesome Pressure cooker. Your Macaroni & Cheese looked so Yummy!! (one of my Favorites Too!! 🙂 Mom used to use a pressure cooker a lot when we were growing up! Back then you had to release the air on your own! If you didn’t you risked the chance of it exploding! EEK! Nowadays they are so much more easier to use and the air pressure is always controlled! No I don’t own a pressure cooker I have a slow cooker which I Love! 🙂 I just can’t get over mu mom’s pressure cooker and How Nervous I was whenever she used iT! 🙂

I heard about the old ones, and I would have never wanted to use those either. I just love this one though. The notch makes it easy to let the steam out. It’s really nice actually! I love mine.
