Cherry Jello Popcorn

1 August, 2016 by KatBp 90 Comments

I was lucky enough to be in a recipe challenge by creating a recipe using the Golden Eagle Syrup. I tried out a few recipes, and the one that turned out the best was a cherry jello popcorn recipe. My family loves popcorn, so I thought this would be a great chance to create something different with popcorn.

Ingredients:

  • 10 Cups Popcorn
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 TBS. Golden Eagle Syrup
  • 3 oz. Cherry Gelatin

Directions: Using the popcorn seeds, pop ten cups of popcorn. Once you have that ready, put that in a large bowl. Next you’re going to want to put the butter, sugar and Golden Eagle Syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. It should be about 5-10 minutes til that gets heated up. Then you can slowly start adding in the gelatin. I usually add a one or two spoonfuls at a time. Make sure to mix that up well too.

Once it’s creamy and everything is mixed well, you can pour it right over the popcorn and mix it all up. Make sure to get all of the popcorn mixed up well.

DSC_0350

Then you’re going to want to put some foil on a baking sheet and put the popcorn on the foil and flatten it out.

DSC_0353

Bake that on 200 degrees for about 30 minutes. After you take it out of the oven you can put it back in a bowl and start breaking up the pieces. You may want to let it cool a bit before doing that.

That’s all there is to it. A very simple, yet delicious recipe! If you love having popcorn during movies, this can be a different way to make movie time even more fun! I’ve always loved popcorn during movies, and now I love it even more!
