My family always loves to play board games. My girls are constantly asking me to play games with them. We certainly play them often. Over the summer we were able to play a lot more since we were together a lot more often. It’s always fun getting new games to play as well. My girls are always excited when we receive new games to play.
Recently we had the chance to review two new games from Blue Orange Games. These games were called Gigamons and Top That! I knew that both of my daughters were going to enjoy both of these games. Honestly, they love just about all games too!
Top That! is a great game about getting your brain really thinking. You’ll have to be quick in this game. It comes with a stack of cards and some other pieces, like a top hat, coin, rabbit and other pieces. This game can be played with up to four players.
Each of the cards will have something different pictured on it. If any of the items are grey, that means they have to get placed under the hat. If the items are in color, then they get stacked on top of the hat. Sometimes the items will have stars around them, and that just means nothing can be placed underneath the item with the stars. This game was actually a very simple one. It does take some thinking, but my daughters caught on very quickly. The way to win this game is to be the first person to complete what’s on the card and say Top That!
My daughters and I play the Gigamons game a lot. They really love playing this one. They play it often when they have their cousins over to play as well. This one comes with many pieces as well. You’ve got your eight gigamons, Some cards, rock cards and more! This is actually a simple game to play once you get use to playing it. It took us a bit before we knew exactly what we were doing, but once we figured it all out, everyone had a lot of fun playing.
This game is like one of the matching games. You can to flip over two cards to see if you find a match. If you do find a match, you get to keep them. Also if you find a match, there are certain things each of these gigamons can do. For example: If you get two of the Electromons, you can to play again. If you get two of the Floramons you get to take a new tile from the drawing pile and place it face up in front of you. Each of these gigamons have different powers. Once you get three of them, you get to take one of the giant gigamons. Once you have three of the giant ones, you win the game. It may sound hard at first, but it really is a simple game once you can remember what each of the powers are. They have cards to help remind you as well.
If you love to play board games, I’d highly recommend these games from Blue Orange Games. I have had a few games from them before, and I’ve always loved them. They’re always coming out with these fun games to play. They’re always very unique as well.

These games are really cool. I like the twists on the traditional matching game in the Gigamons game.

What I love about board games aside from the fact that it’s fun is that it’s also educational which makes it the perfect game for families to play! This looks like a really cool one and it’s perfect for kids!

My little cousin loves to play board games and also loves magic. Top Hat would be an awesome game for my little cousin given his fascination with magic and love of board games. The game looks so unique and is very cute! His birthday is not too far off and heck, the holidays are right around the corner already! 🙂
