How To Prioritize Fitness In The Holiday Season

21 October, 2022 by KatBp 20 Comments

As the holidays approach, your calendar tends to be full of party invitations, shopping plans, and work deadlines. Time always seems to run short, no matter how hard you try to wrap up tasks before the festivities. It is easy to miss out on some things, and fitness is one of them. However, you may not realize that you need to actually go the extra mile to shed the holiday pounds and inches. Unfortunately, you may end up bigger and heavier when the season is through. But you can invest some effort to keep your workout sessions on track even during the busiest days. Here are some tips for prioritizing fitness during the holiday season.

Plan ahead

Everyone knows holiday weeks are packed with work because you have to deck your home, wrap the gifts, and bake the goodies. But you can plan your schedules to fit in some exercise. Consider waking up an hour early for a morning yoga session or plan one in the evening. You can find creative ways to sneak exercise into your routine, such as walking to the market, going for a stroll during lunch, or using stairs instead of lifts.

Opt for quick sessions

An hour-long workout is hardly possible in the busy season, but you can opt for quick sessions to keep moving. An active and focused 20-minute workout is enough to burn an equal number of calories as a long walk. The good thing about quick sessions is that they are easy to adhere to. You can be consistent and continue with the same plan even when you feel lazy during the winter chill in the New Year.

Ramp up your motivation

Besides the shortage of time, low motivation levels can also affect your fitness initiatives during the holiday season. Winter blues and festive stress can give you good reasons to ditch exercise. But you can try cannabis to ramp up your motivation. A quick vape in the morning is enough to rev up your energy. You only need to choose the apt product and tools to get going. Check Mind Vapes – free shipping on all Electric Nectar Collectors to economize your purchase. Also, opt for a CBD-dominant product to make the most of your workout sessions.

Find a workout buddy

Another surefire hack to prioritize fitness in the holiday season is to find a workout buddy. Having someone to compete with makes exercise exciting and rewarding. You hardly worry about tight schedules and tiredness because exercising with your bestie is a rewarding experience. Collaborate with your partner, friend, or colleague to stay ahead of your goals and plans this year.

Get adequate sleep

Sleep is integral to a successful fitness plan because it gives your body a chance to rest and recuperate. But sleep deprivation during the holidays can affect your energy and motivation. Commit to sticking with your eight-hour routine, regardless of festive plans and party invitations. Additionally, according to this reliable family dentist in Ballwin, consistent sleep deprivation can increase your risk of gum diseases. Leave on time to catch up on your sleep and wake up on time for your workout session.

Although fitness and holidays seem on opposite sides, you can get the best of both worlds with the right approach. Party hard but working out harder should be your commitment this season.

Finding a workout buddy works best for me to keep my exercise routines during the holidays. They easily get distracted in these times but I find an accountability partner.

My hubby is my workout buddy around this time of year. Living in North Carolina the sun is limited around this time of year and he likes to join me for my morning and after-dinner walks.
