Stringamajig-Drawing With a String

Looking for a fun game to play with family and friends? My family and I love to play games a lot. We are always looking for some great new games to play together. I also love hosting game nights at my home or bringing games over during other get togethers. Everyone always seems to have a blast when we get together for a good game. Recently I started playing Stringamajig, which is a great game to play with others.

This device-free game is recommended for players ages 13 and beyond where players must talk or, better yet, shout as they guess what is being communicated wordlessly! Artistic ability is not required but knowing your players and how they think, abstractly, might be your secret weapon.

With just a few moments to ponder, pick a card and then draw your word by using the loop of string to make a shape. Players are encouraged to interact with the “stringamajig” while the other players make guesses. Strum that Guitar or spin the rotors on your Helicopter!

Stringamajig

Winner of The Dice Tower Seal of Approval. Now it’s your turn. Good luck! You’ll get 60 seconds to use a loop of string to draw a shape, move it around, and interact with it to try and get the other players to guess your word. You’re trying to get them to guess as many words as you can in those 60 seconds. Each game box includes 1 loop of string, 140-word cards, 4 blank cards, a scorepad, a pencil, a 60-second sand timer and of course, a sheet of game rules.

Stringamajig is the party game that’s part drawing, part charades!

You’ll get 60 seconds to use a loop of string to draw a shape, move it around, and interact with it to try and get the other players to guess your word. You’re trying to get them to guess as many words as you can in that 60 seconds.

Choose your word by drawing the top card from the deck, which lists 4 numbered words. The word you can choose is indicated by the numbers that are on the back of the card that is now on top of the deck.

Draw your word by using the loop of string to make a shape and then interacting with it while the other players make guesses. Strum that Guitar, move the tentacles on your Squid, or spin the rotors on your Helicopter!

Score 1 point for every word that was guessed correctly, and each player scores 1 point for every correct guess they made.

Challenge words score 2 points, but are harder to draw:

  • 2-Player: Make your drawing in the air with another player.
  • Don’t Look: Draw with your eyes closed.
  • Forbidden Word: Guessing a certain word costs you a card.

Bring your next game night to life with Stringamajig!

Includes:

  • 1 loop of string
  • 140 word cards
  • 4 blank cards
  • 1 scorepad
  • 1 pencil
  • 1 60-second sand timer
  • 1 rulesheet

Great Game

To me this game combines charades with a bit of a twist. You have to make your word with the string. What you’ll do, is pick out a card and draw whatever is on the card number. Each card has different numbers on it, so you’ll have to draw whatever is on that number. For example, you get a card that has the number 2 and 4 on it, then you flip the card over, and you get to use the string to try to make either 2 or 4, whichever one you want.

It’s a lot of fun trying to figure out what everyone is trying to make with the string. It is actually a lot harder then you may think. Trying to use a string to make something is difficult. I think this makes the game more fun though. The more challenging a game is, the better it is for my family. We love to be challenged when it comes to games.

We’ve been having so much fun with this game. As I mentioned, it can be a bit hard moving the string around, but that’s the best part about it. If you love a good challenge, then Stringamajig is the right game for you.
