Movie #3 is The Great Mouse Detective

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About The Great Mouse Detective

In Victorian London, England, a little mouse girl’s toymaker father is abducted by a peglegged bat. She enlists the aid of Basil of Baker Street, the rodent world’s answer to Sherlock Holmes. The case expands as Basil uncovers the crime’s link to a plot against the Crown itself.

We always have snacks or a meal to go along with each movie. We made a charcuterie board to go along with this one. Since this is a movie that has to do with a mouse, or many mice, I thought this would make for a great bread and cheese board. We all know how much mice love cheese, so I had to go with some cheese for this one. We even made some cheese bread as well. We also had some orange juice and water for our beverages.

I honestly can’t remember if I had ever seen this movie as a kid. I think I remember bits and pieces of this movie, but I couldn’t remember it all as I started watching it. This might have been one of those movies that I didn’t fully watch, but I’m still glad I got to watch this one with my daughters. This was a Disney movie that never really got a lot of credit. My daughters and I enjoyed watching this one though. We thought it was pretty good.

I’d recommend this one since it is a Disney movie. I’ve always loved watching Disney movies no matter what type of movie it is. They are always some of my favorites. I know this wasn’t a very well known Disney movie, but I still recommend seeing it. We thought it was a decent movie. It’s especially great for kids or those who love movies about detective work. If you enjoy this movie, you can get it off AMAZON too.

I remember this movie that I saw many years ago. I loved the character Toby, the smart yet resourceful dog who did everything he could to stop the evil plans of Ratigan.

Cute movie! And that is a fun snack platter to go along with the show. Sounds like a fun film to enjoy together as a family. I’m surprised I haven’t heard of this one before.
