Do you like to keep the earth clean by recycling? I’m always finding ways to recycle. I’ve even got my daughter, who is only three, recycling. When someone tries to throw away a can or plastic bottle she will pull it out of the garbage and put it in the recycling bins we have. I think it’s great that she wants to help me keep things recycled. Makes me feel great that I’m helping my daughter learn to help keep the earth clean. I’m very excited to have had the chance to review some recycled products from Terracycle.
The purpose of Terracycle is to eliminate the idea of waste. They start to collect waste and use it for a variety of materials and products. They have over 20 million people collecting waste in over 20 countries. They have created over 1,500 products already! To get started you have to select your waste by joining a Brigade program. After joining the program you can get ready to collect and send. Once your waste is ready you will be able to print out a shipping label. After your waste is received and collected you will earn points. Those points can be redeemed for charitable gifts or payments of $.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice. Terracycle can now use your waste to make products. The great thing about the products they make is that you can send them in to Terracyle again. They will use them to make another product. You will even get credited a second time. Isn’t that great?
One of the products I received were M&M Eco Speakers. They are made from 80% recycled materials and are very light weight. You can play music from your iPod, iPhone, MP3 player, laptop or computer. The box part of the speakers are made from m&m boxes. I’ve always loved the M&M characters, so the design was perfect for me. I plugged them in to my computer to test them out. I wasn’t very impressed with the quality of the sound. I turned the volume all the way up and it was still a very soft sound. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like the speakers though. I really love them! I think they would make a great gift for kids.
I also received a mail sack iPod case. This bag is handmade from re-purposed mail sacks. They are very sturdy and are not affected by rain or sleet. I’ve gone outside when it’s raining and my bag gets all wet. I open up by bag and everything inside has gotten all wet as well. Luckily with this bag you shouldn’t have that problem. It will keep your stuff safe from water. It’s got the look of worn out materials or antiques, which is what I really love about this bag. I love the look of worn out materials. I think it gives the items an edgy look. It has a pocket on the front for other accessories that may go along with your iPod as well.
Make sure to check out all there other great items. They have many items to choose from including bags, toys, school supplies, pet supplies, and so much more! I have always loved seeing those capri sun bags. Luckily they make those too. This is a perfect way to go green and even be fashionable.
Disclosure: I received these products in exchange for a review. The opinions are all my own and may differ from yours.
