Movie #15 is The Sandlot

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About The Sandlot

It’s the early 1960s and fifth-grader Scotty Smalls (Tom Guiry) has just moved into town with his folks (Karen Allen and Denis Leary). Kids call him a dork—he can’t even throw a baseball! But that changes when the leader of the neighborhood gang recruits him to play on the nearby sandlot field. It’s the beginning of a magical summer of baseball, wild adventures, first kisses, and fearsome confrontations with the dreaded Beast and its owner (James Earl Jones) who live behind the left field fence. Soon nine boys have become best friends, Scotty is part of a team, and their leader has become a local legend in this hilarious and warmhearted comedy.

This movie seemed to be a lot easier to figure out what we wanted to eat with it. Since it’s a lot about baseball, we just went with some baseball themed foods. We decided that a lot of these foods are usually sold during baseball games, so it would be a great idea to have them. Of course the Baby Ruth candy bars are there because they talk about him in the movie. I just knew we had to put some of those in there too.

I’ve seen The Sandlot many times before, but my daughters had never seen it until now. They both really enjoyed the movie, which made me really happy. This has always been a favorite of mine growing up. I’ve seen this movie so many times before, and I still enjoy it to this day. I’m just glad my daughters were finally able to see the movie, and we all enjoyed it together. Definitely one of those movies you have to see if you haven’t yet. Such a classic one.

Have you ever seen The Sandlot? I’d love to hear what you think about it. I’ve seen it so many times, and I still love it. It’s a wonderful movie to watch with the whole family, especially if someone in your family hasn’t seen it yet. I know it’s such a popular movie, and I’m sure many have already seen it too. You can always grab a copy off AMAZON as well.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I’ve never actually watched this whole movie! Just bits & pieces if I caught it on TV. I’m glad your daughters enjoyed it & that snack tray looks amazing!

I’ve never seen this movie, although I have heard of it. It is fun to watch some older movies and revisit films that have been around for a while.
