If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.
About
Matilda Wormwood (Mara Wilson) is an incredibly brilliant child born to crass and ignorant parents. Her father Harry (Danny DeVito), a crooked car salesman, and her mother Zinnia (Rhea Perlman), a dim-witted Bingo enthusiast, ignore their daughter constantly and, despite her pleas, do not enroll her in school. Left home alone all day, young Matilda makes frequent trips to the library for mental stimulation. She develops a love for reading, and for knowledge in general.
Matilda is another one of my favorite movies. I watched this one a lot growing up. If you have seen Matilda, then you know about the chocolate cake scene. This is probably one of the most iconic scenes in the movie. This scene is one of the most popular ones, and since we needed food, we knew making a chocolate cake would be best for this movie, so that is exactly what we did.
If you still haven’t seen Matilda yet, I highly recommend it. This is such a great movie. My daughters loved watching it as well. Matilda learns that she has special powers, so she usually uses these for good things. Of course her parents are not the greatest, and she has a horrible principal as well. You’ll have to watch it if you haven’t to see all that happens. It’s such a great movie. I’m sure my daughters and I will watch it again. I’m seen it so many times over the years. It’s one of the best.
I would love to know if you have seen the movie Matilda or not. I’m sure many of you have already seen this movie. I know it’s a great classic, but if you haven’t, what are you waiting for?! Check it out if you haven’t yet. It would be a great movie to see with the family too. You could even grab your own copy off AMAZON as well.
