Do your children have their own cell phones yet? My daughters are very smart with electronics. They know how to work their way around cell phones and tablets. Every time I call someone on my phone they always want to talk to who ever it is I’m talking with. Usually we with call their grandfather, or as they call him, “papa”.

One of my daughters is in school, and I sometimes wonder if it would be a good time for her to have a phone that she could use if she ever needed to call me for any reason at all. I don’t think there really is a good or bad time to give your child a phone. I think if they know how to work it, it might come in handy to have for emergencies.

TracFone has this wonderful phone called the LG Optimus Fuel Android smartphone. Some of the great features of this phone are:

  • Android 4.4
  • 3.5″ Touchscreen Display
  • 3MP Camera/Video Recorder
  • 3x Talk + Text+Data

The package also came with an exclusive code to download free Spongebob games, episodes and apps as well as Spongebob ear buds. My girls love Spongebob, so they enjoyed having the ear buds and being able to play around with the downloads, episodes and apps they had to offer.

One of the features I really love about this product, is that it has the NQ Family Guardian parental control app. As a parent, I’m always worried about what could happen with my child or what they might be doing. Parents can monitor and manage their child’s activities, locations and phone usage, including web browsing, app downloads, photo libraries, contacts, text messages and more. You’ll have free access to this for a whole year. After that it’s just $34.99 for each year you choose to have it.

I was able to let my oldest daughter try out the phone with some of my help. It didn’t take very long before she was able to navigate the phone and learn how to use it. She loves being able to talk with her “papa” on the phone, as well as taking videos and pictures. I was even able to let her use the Spongebob ear buds so she could listen to some music.

We love how easy this phone is to use. It’s a great phone for kids to start off with. I think they’ll be able to easily use it. I enjoy having the prepaid cards to use since it’s for my daughter. This way I wouldn’t be over charged if she were to go over her minutes.

I really like that it’s a touch screen because my kids are used to that with their tablets. I find touch screens to be a lot easier to handle. They are definitely more easy to navigate as well. My daughter liked that she could move around with the swipe of a finger. She really enjoyed moving around the photos to see all the pictures she had taken.

LG L34C Tracfone

With this phone you’re able to get talk, text and web. Since I have internet at home, I usually hook the phone up to the wifi that way it’s still free. That will save on minutes as well. My daughter likes to play games on the internet, so now with this phone she’ll be able to play them as much as she’d like. She really liked playing the Spongebob games with the phone. Even being able to play with some of the apps and watch the episodes was fun for her. I know a lot of kids really enjoy Spongebob, so this is the perfect phone for those that love Spongebob.

Overall I would say this is a great phone, especially for kids that want/need a phone. I’m glad that my daughter was able to use it. It’s nice to have a decent phone that she can use. I remember when I had my first TracFone it certainly wasn’t as easy as these were. I’m happy that my daughter is happy with this and that they have great prices.

If you’re not familiar with the airtime/refill cards, they’re used to add minutes to your phone. The cheapest one is for 60 minutes, and that comes to an average cost of $6.67 a month. This is a huge savings compared to what I pay for my phone. I’m actually thinking of switching over after seeing how this phone worked. I believe my daughter and I will both be using a TracFone very soon.

Make sure to check out what TracFone has to offer for your kids. I think you’ll be surprised at the great options. Although I do highly recommend you get this great phone for them to start out with.

I think TracFone is a great option for kids that are old enough for their own phones. It is pretty much mandatory to have a smart phone now.

TracFone sounds like a good way for kids to be able to own their own phones without the hefty price tag that usually come with one. Great post!

I think this is so great, and funny how technology has come SUCH a long way since we were even… teenagers! I’ve never heard of TracFone before, but I think it’s an absolutely amazing thing now that I’ve read your post about it.

I honestly don’t think my son is mature enough to have any type of phone right now, considering that he’s just 8. However, I’ll definitely keep something like this in mind in the future. 🙂

Hubby and I have Trac Phones. Our grown kids and teen all have smartphones and they laugh at us, but we just don’t want the bill (the teen’s is paid as a gift from a relative who thought she was phone deprived, lol!).

Look at her holding that phone, so cute. We got our son a phone when he was in 4th grade. He had it until 5th grade. He refused to bring it with him after that. I think his mind might change when he sees this. 🙂
