DIY Sprouters Inspired by Tumble Leaf Spring-A-Ling Surprise

28 March, 2017 by KatBp 90 Comments

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Amazon Studios. The thoughts and opinions are all 100% my own.

I’m so excited that Spring is finally here! The weather is finally starting to warm up. Spring is my favorite season because there is so much you can do and the weather is just right. It’s a great time to get outdoors with the family and spend some time together. I try to get out as often as I can with my daughters. They love being outside when the weather is beautiful, and so do I. We have many plans for Spring and we’re super excited to be able to start with that when it gets warmer out. Luckily it looks like it is going to start getting warmer out soon for us!

I’m excited to announce that on Tuesday, April 4, “Spring-a-ling Surprise,” an adorable new springtime special from Amazon’s award-winning children’s series Tumble Leaf, is set to “spring” onto Prime Video for kids and families across the country! I watched this episode, and it was the cutest show ever! I’m so excited for you all to be able to watch this soon. I think that your kids are going to love it! I’m an adult and I even loved it! I honestly didn’t want this to end because it was so adorable!

In “Spring-a-ling Surprise,” everyone helps Bloom the bunny hunt for his lost eggs, which he plans to plant for a spectacular spring surprise, while Fig the fox uncovers many other signs of spring along the way!

Here’s more on Tumble Leaf:

Created by Drew Hodges (Community, SNL) and executive produced by Hodges and Kelli Bixler (The Roadents) of the award-winning studio Bix Pix Entertainment, Tumble Leaf follows Fig, a small blue fox, who lives in a whimsical land where he discovers adventure, friendship and love around every bend. The series reinforces the importance of learning through play, as it helps children understand the world around them. Tumble Leaf features the voice talent of Christopher Downs as Fig, Brooke Wolloff as Maple, Zac McDowell as Hedge, Addie Zintel as Pine, and Alex Trugman as Ginkgo.

Featuring lush worlds and playful stop-motion animation, Tumble Leaf has garnered multiple Daytime Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Pre-School Children’s Animated Program. The show has also earned the Jury Award for a TV series at the 2014 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the 2015 Annie Award for Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production for Preschool Children and a 2015 Parents’ Choice Gold Award.

There were some special parts of this show that really stood out to me. Since this is a Spring edition and it seems to be related to Easter, I wanted to make a craft that would be inspired by Tumble Leaf’s Spring-A-Ling Surprise episode. Since everyone was hunting for lost eggs, I wanted to make a craft that went along with that. Once you see this episode, this craft will make a lot of sense to you!

You’ll only need a few items for this craft, and it’s super simple too!

What You’ll Need

Small Flower Pots

Fake Grass

Fake Eggs (Plastic or ones you can decorate)

Markers/Paints (if you use the eggs you can decorate you’ll need these)

I have done this both ways, so you’ll see photos of me using the plastic eggs as well as the ones that were decorated. I think it’s more fun with the ones you decorate though, but if you don’t want to buy those, the plastic eggs work just as good. I just know my daughters love to be crafty, so the eggs we could decorate were a perfect choice for us.

The first thing you need to do is get out your flower pots. You’re going to use the fake grass to fill those flower pots up. You can scrunch up the grass in balls to try to get them to fit nicely in the pot. I try not to get the grass to hang over the edges, but that can be hard at times. I just think they look nicer when all the grass is not hanging off the edge of the pots.

Next you can place the eggs on top of the grass in the flower-pot. It’s seriously that simple and they look wonderful! You’ll see in the photo above I used the plastic eggs.

Then in the photo above here, I used the decorative eggs. I had a lot of fun with these ones. You can get very creative and decorate them how you want. I didn’t want them to get to messy with paint, so I used markers for mine. I thought they turned out great and looked nicer then the plastic eggs. Either way looks great though!

I also have a trailer video above that you can watch to see what Tumble Leaf is all about. It’s certainly a great show that I would let my own daughters watch. I had a lot of fun watching the video and I enjoyed it a lot as well. I know that my girls are going to love to watch the show and I’m excited for this to come out on April 4th. That’s not too much longer before it’s released! It’s going to be on Amazon Prime, so make sure to watch for it when it comes out.

I hope that you’ll all tune in on April 4th on Amazon Prime to watch this show! I would love to hear all of your thoughts about it. I hope you all enjoyed what was on the trailer video and hope to hear more from you all about what you thought! Right now Amazon Prime does have the first two seasons too, so you can check those out before the third season comes out!

Have any of you seen Tumble Leaf before? If so, what did you or your children think of it?
