3M Window Film

15 August, 2017 by KatBp 52 Comments

Disclosure: This post is part of a paid sponsorship 3M Window Film. All opinions are my own.

Summer is the time when it’s so important to protect your skin from the sun. Of course you want to always protect it, but summer can be the most harmful. We all know sunscreen does a lot to help protect us, but what about when you’re indoors? I’m sure many don’t think that it can be harmful for when you’re indoors, but it certainly can. When the sun shines through the windows of your home or vehicle, you can feel all that heat. This is why I think it’s a great idea to make sure to have window film on your windows of your home as well as your vehicle.

3M™ Residential and Automotive Window Film is a professionally installed product that can be used to improve the comfort, energy efficiency and look of any room or vehicle. I’m all about energy-efficient products, so these would be perfect for both my home as well as my vehicle. I would actually love to have this in my car. I drive often with my kids in the car, so this would be something that would be nice to have on my car so that we can all have uv protection. You know how hot it can get while you’re in the car, and nothing is worse than not having ac either. If your ac goes out, at least this film can help protect your skin from the uv. There are many other great benefits as well.

3M invented window films 50 years ago. For the past five decades they have been innovating and improving them.  Their products offer both homeowners and car owners protection from excessive heat and glare, faded furnishings, and provide security and privacy. They help maintain the appearance of your home and vehicle, allowing customers to enjoy the view, while simultaneously experiencing increased comfort and protection.

Check out some of the features of the 3M™ Automotive Window Film Crystalline Series:

  • Features a proprietary, multilayer optical film that combines over 200 layers of nano-technology in a film that is thinner than a
    Post-it® Note
  • Light tint rejects up to 60% of solar energy and 97% of heat-producing infrared rays
  • Blocks up to 99.9% of UV light to provide a total Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 1000 for drivers and their passengers
  • Non-metallized window film lets drivers stay connected with mobile devices, GPS or satellite radio reception without
    interference

I would love to use this product for my car that I drive in with my kids. Since I’m usually the one with my kids in the car most of the time, I want everyone to be protected. It’s amazing to see how much the heat can go down with this window film. The percentage is huge, and that’s something I love to see. I know that with these products I’d be able to feel better about driving around with my kids in the car. I know I’ll get the best protection with the 3M window film.

Wouldn’t you love to be able to protect your family as well? My family is very important to me, so a product like this would be extremely useful. The window film can be used if you’re concerned about excessive heat, increased privacy, UV protection, a faded interior, glare or security.

This sounds really neat! I love that it blocks 99.9% UV light especially for a car so that you are always protected from the sun. Definitely going to look into this to keep those in my car as well as myself safe.

I tinted my own house windows and it was a great decision. It really helped to keep the house cooler, and my furniture from fading.

We used window film on our previous house and it made a huge difference. We used it primarily on our west facing windows, so it cut down on the evening sun / heat, which is perfect since we live in a warm climate.

I don’t think many people would have “window film” on their personal energy audits for their homes. Great suggestion for not only helping increase efficiency, but also filtering out those UV rays.

It’s true, I hadn’t given much thought to the effects of the sun shining through the windows at home. Window film sounds like a great idea. I know I have ended up with some sunburn on arms and legs while traveling in the car for a distance on hot summer days, so it makes sense to use a product like this to prevent that from happening.
