My family and I absolutely love summer. We always have more fun in summer because the weather is warmer and we can find a lot of great activities to do outdoors. One of our favorites to do each summer, is to go to amusement parks. Our favorite one is Valleyfair, which is located in Minnesota. Valleyfair is currently offering Minnesota Eats now through August 4th on Saturday and Sundays only.
Minnesota Eats is uniquely Minnesotan food combinations. Saturdays & Sundays July 13 – August 4 from 12-7 PM. This combo includes one regular, single day admission and a Minnesota Eats Tasting Card which provides you with one serving from each of the four event food booths on the date chosen at purchase. They will have four specialty food booths serving up a variety of delicious goodness! If you’re 21+, each signature dish can be paired with a locally brewed beer. Each of the weekends serve different foods too, so it’s not always the same.
Juicy Lucy: Donut Bacon Burger
One of the foods they had there, was a donut bacon burger from Juicy Lucy. It came with a side of homemade chips, which I absolutely love. It was the perfect pairing together.
You may think it’s a weird combination to have a donut for the top and bottom on a burger, but it was actually really delicious. I loved the taste of this burger combination. With the sweetness from the donut and the delicious juicy burger, it made for a great combo. I was actually really surprised at how much I actually enjoyed the burger. I would definitely get one of these again if they serve them again.
MN Comforts: Booyah
I had actually never heard of Booyah until I went and got this at Valleyfair. I know people say the word a lot, but I never realized it was a food too. I’m so glad that I tried this because it was amazing. This was probably one of my favorites. I love a good stew, and that is what this was like. Very good! It had potatoes, corn, carrots and more! Something I would certainly eat again too. I hope they will be serving more of this as well.
MN Fried: Hotdish Croquettes
This was another new food to me. I had never heard of these before.
This was another amazing dish. This was at the top of my list as well. They were so good. I’m not positive what’s all inside them, but they sure were amazing!
MN Desserts: S’more Nachos
Now this was something that my daughters really enjoyed, which I knew they would. They love s’mores, so I figured they’d love the S’more Nachos too. I really liked them as well. My daughters were able to share this since it was a big amount for them.
I could tell that these were made with waffle cones and chocolate chips. The marshmallow was probably the favorite part for my kids. They always love the gooey stuff.
Of course an amusement park wouldn’t be one without rides too, right?! Steel Venom has always been one of my favorite rides at Valleyfair. This one goes both backwards and forwards, and it is my favorite ride there.
The purple ride you see here is called delirious. It goes around in a circle on a track, so yes, you will go upside down. My oldest isn’t a fan of the ones that go upside down, but my youngest loves them. Tesla (my youngest) loves all rides, especially the thrill rides. She certainly is like me because we both love a good thrill ride.
You can also see some people hanging from a cord, which is called the Rip Cord. That one Tesla and I went on the last time we were at Valleyfair, and we loved it too. I’ve been on it a few times, and that was her first time. I couldn’t believe how much she loved it. On this one, you dive at a speed of 65 miles per hour while free-falling 18 stories. She wants to go on it again, and I can’t wait to take her again too!
Northern Lights is also another fun one for the whole family. This one has you rocking and rolling on over 300 feet of track with speeds of up to 43 mph. This ride takes you up and it doesn’t slow down when you come back down until you get to see all the beautiful views of Route 76. I would still consider this a thrill ride, but a lot more mellow then most others, which is why my oldest really likes this one.
They also have games there to play. My daughters love playing Whac A Mole, so we let them play that one together. There were many other games there too that they played. I only got photos on this one as I forgot to get more while they were enjoying playing games.
We had so much time at Valleyfair, and as always, we can’t wait to go again! This coming weekend, August 3-4th is the last day for Minnesota Eats. If you’re planning on going, make sure to go this weekend so you can enjoy the great food! If you do go this weekend, they will be serving Guac Taco Burgers, Wild Rice Soup, Corn Fritter and Apple Crisp. You won’t want to miss out on those!

I’m almost glad I don’t live close enough to go to this because of how good all this food looks… I feel like if I could actually get this food I would end up waking up the next morning extremely bloated with a lot of regret… LOL.
Haha! It was such good food. No regrets here and nothing happened the next day for me.
