How Could PEMF Therapy Help for Migraines and Headaches?

2 July, 2021 by KatBp 26 Comments

This is a guest post.

Nowadays, headaches and migraines have become the most prevalent health issue. There would be hardly any individual who has not experienced the throbbing or pounding in the head, no matter what age group, gender, race, geographical area they belong. Headaches and migraines are troublesome and painful, influencing your efficiency at work, family, and social life. The treatment generally includes analgesics, antiemetics, and prophylactic medications. The medication overuse, sometimes, itself is the reason for headaches. So why not add novelty to the conventional treatments. Try PEMF therapy using amazing applicators as PEMF mats or pillows.

What Causes Migraines?

Migraine, the worst of all headaches, is very likely to become a chronic ailment, interfering adversely with the quality of your life. It occurs mostly due to some disruption in voltage channels in your central nervous system. Besides, a dysfunction in cerebral circulation or the neural regulation of the brain might be other possible reasons for the onset of the migraine. Electrophysiological studies observed noticeable changes in the brain before headache, which later returned to their original state after the attack.

In simple words, migraines are the consequence of some abnormal activity in the brain that temporarily affects nerve transmission. It further leads to uneven blood flow in the brain, causing inflammation.

Can PEMF Heal Your Headaches?

Yes, it can do so by offering a myriad of benefits for improving oxygenation, microcirculation, cells and nerve regeneration, and pain management.

Evidence shows that non-pharmacologic treatments, including PEMF therapy, have proved effective for the prophylactic treatment of migraines. It works at various levels. In one study, 90 patients resistant to both acupuncture and medication therapy delivered by tcm singapore; were given a 20-minute radiation session for 15 days.  The results were mind-blowing. There was a marked decrease in the intensity and frequency of tension headache of about 88%, common migraines about 60%, and cervical migraines about 68%.

The application of electromagnetic stimulation helps to treat the condition and the underlying factors responsible for it. It triggers various mechanisms to stimulate nerves directly by

  •     Improving circulation
  •     Repairing molecules
  •     Delivering nutrients
  •     Increasing oxygen level
  •     Stimulating growth factors
  •     Eliminating wastes

Release Your Stress with PEMF

Tension or stress headaches induce a sensation like something squeezing your brain, twisting your nerves, or stretching them like an elastic band. Stress or pressure from any source is mostly responsible for the condition. PEMF tackles tension headaches in the following ways.

  • Firstly, it relaxes your brain muscles to reduce your brain’s reaction to stress.
  • Secondly, it enables your body to eliminate hormones and neurotransmitters released in the fight-flight situation.
  • Thirdly, it protects your body’s tissues from the physical changes brought about by the release of stress hormones.

In 2013, FDA approved PEMF for the treatment of migraines with auras. Migraine aura is linked with some sensory sensations such as visual sensation, nausea, and over sensitivity to some stimuli. Your brain occiput (back of the head), on exposure to pulsed electromagnetic stimulation, alleviates the symptoms of migraine.

Does Sleep Disturbance Cause Headaches or Headaches Cause Sleep Disturbance?

Both statements are true. Sleep deprivation or over-sleeping both provide a reasonable ground for headaches. Contrary to this, you can never enjoy a good sleep even with the mildest headache. So the cycle goes on. The therapy devices as PEMF mats help the body stimulate brainwave to recover your lost normal sleep patterns. The machines stimulate Melatonin and HGH (human growth hormone) production, the hormones responsible for sleep and rejuvenation.

Conclusion

If headaches have made your life miserable, tried out all the options, and nothing worked, PEMF is here for you. The non-drug, non-invasive treatment would not only knock out your pain but also cure the conditions causing these and improve your health holistically.

I need to give PEMF therapy a try. I’ve been getting horrible migraines for the past several months, and it’s just debilitating. I need something to help.

This is interesting. I get migraine attacks from time to time and it’s just so annoying that I cannot function well when I have a head throbbing because of pain.

I don’t tend to get headaches but I’m sure I’m in the minority. My aunt gets bad migraines though and they can be quite debilitating.
