BURBANK, CA (February05, 2024)–A compelling exploration of love, family and grief, this unique film from English director Andrew Haighis Certified-Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes™(96%) and has been described as “a beautiful, disorientating dream” (Jake Kring-Schreifels, The Film Stage)that “you won’t be able to stop thinking about”(Gregory Ellwood, The Playlist).
Adam was very young when his parents died, and now that he is an adult, some of these memories are starting to flood back to him. He even starts to see his parents appear even though they died so many years ago. Adam has been a very lonely guy ever since he was little, and even when his parents were still around, he still felt lonely. There are only two people who live in his building, and that is himself and another gay man named Harry. You can only imagine how much more lonely he could feel being one of two residents in this building. Luckily the two of them really hit it off and become very close.
I thought this was a very beautiful and touching film. Definitely a must see. You never truly know when someone is lonely, and this was one of those movies that really pulled at the heartstrings. Adam faced a lot growing up, and you’ll see that in this movie.
Unanimously lauded by critics (both the LA Times and USA Today named it Best Film of the Year) and nominated for 6BAFTA Film Awards, Searchlight Pictures’ All Of Us Strangers will be available from all major digital retailers(Prime Video, Apple TV and Vudu/Fandango) and arrive on Hulu on February 22.
Film Synopsis
One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott)has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.
