In inspiration of Are You Afraid of the Dark?: The Limited Series Three-Season Collection coming out, I wanted to make something that could go great with this series. Being around the campfire and telling stories is a big part of what this show is all about. I decided to make some campfire banana boats to go along with the show. I knew this would be great since it’s all about telling stories by the campfire. You can enjoy these while telling your own stories too, or while watching Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Campfire Banana Boats
Equipment
- Aluminum Foil
- Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- Bananas
- Mini Marshmallows
- Chocolate Chips
- Graham Crackers
Instructions
- Put the oven on 350° if you're going to bake them. First you'll want to take your bananas and make a slice down the middle. Do this with the peel still on. Make sure you don't slice all the way through though. Slice about 3/4 of the way through.
- Now you want to sprinkle in some of the mini marshmallows and the chocolate chips. Do as many as you'd like, but don't overfill.
- Once you have all your fillings, wrap the bananas up in aluminum foil. Put them in the oven for about 15 minutes.
- Take them out of the oven and take off the aluminum foil. Now you can sprinkle some of the graham crackers over the top. I also like to add a few extra chocolate chips on top. That's it! Enjoy!

These campfire banana boats sound perfect for spooky season. We’ll definitely be enjoying them while watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? together.
They’re the best! Great for watching the show for sure.
I am so making those campfire banana boats the next time the kids are with us when we do a cookout! How much fun and I love these scary shows too. This is so much fun and good luck to all entrants!
Right! I haven’t had banana boats in such a long time, so I figured, why not?!
These banana boats look amazing. I think even adding melted marshmallows would be good too. I’ll have to try these one day. I don’t eat a ton of bananas because they get rip too fast and I forget to eat them.
They are great! I actually really love banana boats.
This is a fun TV series. I saw this show in the past. And I think it’s great clean family entertainment for the whole family with a dose of spooky. Thanks
It really is. I love this show!
