Cheesy Bacon Wrapped Ranch Tater Tots in the Power Air Fryer XL

11 April, 2017 by KatBp 71 Comments

Disclosure: I received this product in exchange for a review. The opinions are all 100% my own. I was not compensated for this post.

Ever since I have seen commercials about an air fryer, I have always wondered about how they work. It sounded like an amazing product since it’s air fried and you don’t have to use oil. That sounded a lot healthier to me! After looking around a lot, I got to know more about the products and had a high interest in them. I knew I just had to have one of these products. I thought it would be a great time saver for me while cooking dinner.

I was given the opportunity to try out the Power Air Fryer XL. My father had bought himself an air fryer, so I kind of knew how they worked. I loved his, so I knew it was going to be great having one of my own. My husband was definitely excited to try this out too. This product can cook just about anything you would normally put in your oven. It’s amazing!

The settings on the air fryer are very simple to use. There was a book that came with this, so you’ll get a lot of useful information there too. As you keep messing around with all the buttons, you’ll find what you need for each item you make. My husband and I have made a lot of foods in this air fryer. We wanted to test out a lot of different things before having me write-up this post. I wanted to make sure I really got to know how to work the air fryer and see how everything turned out. The more you use it, the easier it’s going to get. You’ll know more on what temperatures and times you’re going to want for certain foods too.

You can put just about anything inside the fry basket. One of my families favorites, is to cut up potatoes and make fries and potato wedges. We love anything that is homemade, so this air fryer has been amazing for helping us make our homemade foods. They even have a divider you can use to make two foods at once. I thought that was an awesome idea! I normally cook one item at a time because I like to cook up a lot at a time. I also usually cook things that are different temperatures, so that is nice to be able to cook one at a time for that. My husband tried cooking fries and tater tots with the divider, and it worked out great!

I wanted to share a recipe that I tried out in the air fryer. I made these cheesy bacon ranch wrapped tater tots. They were delicious! The very first thing you want to do, is to wrap your tater tots up in bacon. I put these on 400 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.

You’ll know when they’re done by looking at the bacon. If you like it crispier, you may want to leave them in just a little bit longer.

Then I just took some of the shredded cheese and sprinkled that across them. Then I took some ranch dressing and drizzled that on top. There is no real amount to use, except for what you would like. I would say for the cheese it was about 1/2 a cup and 1/4 a cup of ranch dressing.

This was a very simple recipe that is great for an appetizer. I love this for any party. It’s great for gatherings for all your friends and family. With the air fryer it won’t take long to get these made either.

I’m very happy with my air fryer, and I can’t wait to keep using it and coming up with more great recipes. I hope that you are able to get yourself an air fryer if you haven’t yet. I sure love mine, and I love that it’s in the color of red. It also comes in the color of black. They are also available in two sizes. Mine is the 3.4 quart, but there is also the 5.3 quart.

How many of you have used or own an air fryer? If so, what do you love to cook in yours or what would you love to cook in yours if you had one?
