Chili Mac With S&W Beans

27 February, 2017 by KatBp 72 Comments

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written on behalf of S&W Beans and Influence Central. All opinions are 100% my own.

At the beginning of the year I decided to start eating healthier. I have been working on making more meals that are healthier for my whole family. It’s great that my daughters love fruits and vegetables, so it’s not hard to come up with something that is healthier that we can all enjoy together. I’ve been very careful with what I eat and I watch how much I eat as well. I make sure not to go over my calorie budget, which makes it easier to know more about the portion sizes. Since I am eating healthier, S&W Beans is a great choice for my family. We love using beans in many recipes.

Since it’s still a bit cold out, I decided to make some chili mac. This is similar to having chili, except it has noodles in it as well. S&W Beans offer a wide variety of ways to use beans, so this is the recipe I wanted to make with the beans. This is a great recipe for those that might be needing something quick and easy to make. I’m busy often, so I’m always trying to come up with some quick recipes that I know my family will love.  The S&W beans are great for those who are seeking convenient and healthy food options.

Ingredients:

1 lb. Hamburger

1 Onion

2 Garlic Cloves

32 oz. Chicken Broth (comes in the box)

14.5 oz Can of Diced Tomatoes

1 1/2 tsp. Chili Powder

1 tsp Cumin

1/2 tsp Salt

1/4 tsp Pepper

1 1/2 Cups Pasta (I used elbow noodles)

15.75 oz Can of S&W Kidney Beans

15 oz. Can of S&W White Beans

1 Cup Shredded Cheese

1 tbsp. Parsley

The first thing you’re going to want to do, is to brown up your hamburger with the onion and garlic.

Once the hamburger is all done, you can drain the grease. I used a frying pan for my hamburger, onion and garlic, so after dumping out the grease I moved it to a bigger pot. You could use the pot to brown the hamburger if you want. After that, I added in the beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Then I mixed that all up.

After mixing that all up, I added in the chicken broth. You want to get this to a boil.

After it starts to boil, you can add in the noodles. You want to put a cover on the pot and let this simmer. It will take about 15 minutes til that’s done. Keep checking on it and stirring it.

Once you see if the noodles are finished, you can add the cheese on top. I then simmer it for a few minutes to get the cheese to melt.

After the cheese has melted, you can sprinkle the parsley on top. Then you want to serve it immediately.

This was the first time I tried making my own chili mac before, and I have to say it turned out great. I’ll definitely be making this again soon. I just love that the beans look so great and they taste great too! They really made the recipe great. Without the beans it wouldn’t have tasted as good. When you make chili mac like this, you need to have those delicious beans too!

Besides all the classic beans, S&W Beans also has others, like the 50% less sodium and organic options. There is a wide variety of these products that you can mix in with your recipes. Beans can be used with so many meals, which is what I love about them. I could probably use these beans with just about all my recipes I make. I love that these taste great and they’re a much healthier option too.

It’s great to have a wide variety of the S&W Beans available. I’m excited to be able to come up with even more recipes using these beans. I have always loved these, and I’ll continue to come up with more recipes to share with you all. My family is happy with my chili mac recipe, and so am I. We’re all excited to see what else I have in mind to create with these.

Now you can have a delicious chili mac meal for your family for dinner tonight! You won’t have to worry about coming up with something healthier either. You have it all right here in this recipe. Just head to your local store to pick some of these S&W Beans up so you can make this meal tonight.

How many of you love using the S&W Beans? What are some ways you like to add them in to meals?

This chili Mac looks so much than the kind I make. I really like this. I’ve used hormel chili, just to be faster, but I think using my own hamburger meat, not from a can will make the dish even better. Thanks for the idea!
