Chitag 2019

3 December, 2019 by KatBp 52 Comments

Chicago is such a beautiful city. I’ve only been there a few times, but it always amazes me how beautiful it is. The weekend before Thanksgiving, my family went and visited for a weekend. We mainly went there for Chitag 2019!

Chitag is the Chicago Toy & Game Fair. I have only been there one other time, and we really enjoyed it. My family was really excited to get to go another time. They have many different stands to go to with so many fun games to play and toys for the kids. Many of them have products on hand, so you can buy them if it’s something that interests you too.

Super Things! My daughters had to do a bit of a dance to be able to get a blind bag from Super Things. My oldest is shy, but in the end, she did a dance so she could get one. I thought that was really fun and a great idea too. They really loved the blind bags they received. If you have kids who love blind bag items, then these would be a great choice for them. I know my kids want more of them now.

Super Things had a nice station where the kids could color and make their own masks. They really enjoyed making their own masks.

The newest Playfoam Pluffle was probably one of our favorites to get our hands on. We really loved the feel of this and can’t wait to get some of our own. This is top on the list for the holidays this year.

My daughters really loved the scooters from Neon Zone. They went off with such ease. What’s really neat about these, is that they light up. I really loved how much they could glide easily with them. The wheels on these were really nice.

Deadly Doodles was one of Tesla’s favorite games there. This game was a good challenging game for her too. We love a great challenge, so this was the perfect game for her to play. You had to copy the cards on your board and try to get as many monsters and weapons as you could. My husband and Tesla both played together and ended up tying on this one!

Hoot Owl Hoot! was a really fun game to play with the kids. This was a more simple game, so kids can really enjoy this one. You are trying to get all your owls to the nest before the sun sets. It’s got some cards with colors or the sun on it, so you can either move the sun up or move your owls to one of the colors shown on the cards. There are a total of six owls, but you don’t have to use them all if you don’t want too. We love a good challenge, so we liked trying this one out with all of the owls. A really fun game to play with kids!

Fuzzikins were something my daughters really enjoyed as well. These are so fuzzy! They even got to color on them and make them the way they wanted. They have some really fun sets with these too.

Astro Trash was another game that was at the top of our list. I will be getting this one for my girls for the holidays. We all really enjoyed this one together and can’t wait to play again. The four of us played, and had to try to get rid of all the pieces on our board. The one to get rid of them first would be the winner.

We even had some food to eat while we were there. We were provided with a card with some money on it so that we could get some food to eat while we were there. I thought that was really nice of them to do. My daughters chose a lot of great goodies to eat.

My daughters said one of their most favorite games was Dragon Snacks from Goliath. I actually ended up buying this game over Black Friday. We have really enjoyed playing this one a lot at home already. The dragon lights up for a few seconds so you can see where the colors are in its belly, and then a color will light up and you’ll have to try to find that one without looking.

My daughters still enjoy coloring, (and so do I) so they really liked the station set up where everybody was able to color in some of the sheets. They did a small piece of the coloring and other kids did other pieces. Everyone was able to color in part of the pictures.

Q-Bitz is another challenging one, which is why Tesla loved this one. She really loves things that are challenging and she does a great job with them too. For this one, you want to try to match up the blocks in order of the card. It can be a bit challenging, which is great for kids.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile was there too! I always enjoy seeing the wienermobile and always take photos when I see it as well. It’s so much fun to see this in person.

They even had a giant Nerf rocket where kids were able to shoot off. This was really neat to see! A lot of fun to watch the rocket shoot off inside!

The Fizzy Magic bath fizzies had surprises inside. My daughters love it when something has a surprise hidden inside. They have so many products that had surprise toys inside. These were definitely something they really loved to see. I love that they put toys inside for the kids. It makes it much more enjoyable.

Little Tikes had this huge cozy coupe. My daughters had a blast with that! I love how they made it giant because my kids could actually ride in this one. They are a bit to young for the regular size ones now.

Buttons was so adorable that I just had to stop for a photo!

We didn’t actually get to play The Root Beer Float Challenge game, but this one sounded like a lot of fun. There are a lot of different challenges that you can do with the game, so it’s already on our list of games to pick up. We can’t wait to get this one and play together as a family. These games that include challenges are so much fun!

The Shape shifting boxes were so much fun to play around with. I think this is something we all really loved as a family. You can shape the however you want. I can’t wait to get some of these for myself. I really enjoyed these.

My daughters enjoyed the Squirmels so much that we bought them both their own set. They have been having a lot of fun with them. They are tricky at first because it is like a magic trick. With lots of practice, I’m sure we’re going to be able to be great at it.

My daughters got to bring home their very own Playmobil The Movie set, and they were really excited about that. Once we returned back to our hotel, they opened it right up and started to play.

We had such an amazing time at Chitag 2019. I’m sure we’ll be back again sometime! We always have such a blast there. It’s a lot of fun to be able to check out some of the toys and games everyone has. It’s nice to be able to sometimes meet some of the creators of them as well. That way you get to really get to know more about them and their products.

Make sure to check out my daughters YouTube video of Chitag too!

We were in Chicago that weekend but we didn’t make it to the toy event. In fact, when we left Chicago, we learned that our daughter’s condo caught fire and that 4 homes were destroyed. Sigh, I’ll never forget THAT weekend! So glad your weekend was a lot better than mine!
