Chrysalis The Awakening Book Review

22 September, 2012 by KatBp Leave a Comment

What would you do if all of a sudden your life changed and you were told you were the chosen one? You find out that there are magicals, vampires, and others out there that are different from humans. I was given the chance to review the book Chrysalis The Awakening.

Aubrey (Bree) and her grandmother were heading to Las Vegas for a party. After arriving Bree was introduced to a few people. She wandered off on her own for a while. There was this guy that she kept seeing often and she kept thinking she knew she had seen him before but she couldn’t think of where. She was so fascinated by him but she didn’t know why. She had never had this happen with a guy before. Bree finds her grandmother again and she had someone to introduce to Bree, and it’s the same guy that she kept seeing everywhere, and his name is Steven. Bree and Steven ended up going out and they had a great time, so they kept seeing each other.

Steven introduces Bree to all of his friends, and everything seems strange around them all, but it feels right to her. It takes Bree awhile, but she starts to remember everything, and she realizes that she knows Steven and all of his friends from a long time ago. Steven and Bree have been together for a long time. They are all from a different realm and Steven and his friends are actually vampires.  Right now Bree is still human, but at any time she will cross over to the other side with the rest of them. Bree starts to gain some of her powers, like moving items with her mind and listening to other people’s thoughts.

Esmeralda has been trying to make sure Bree never crosses over. She tries everything to make sure that Bree would never cross over and become the chosen one. She doesn’t want Bree to rule because she wants to rule and have all the power. What she doesn’t realize is that Bree is really powerful.

I really loved this book. I’m a huge fan of books that deal with vampires or magical powers. The author did a great job with all the details of the book. I love how Bree didn’t know anything about having special powers until she met Steven. She finally realized who everyone was and what she was there to do. I can’t wait to read the second book!

Do you think Esmeralda will have enough power to stop Bree from crossing over? You will have to read the book and find out.
