Corn Palace
One of the places we wanted to stop at on the way to our trip, was The Corn Palace, which is located in Mitchell, SD. I heard about this place from my father, who also went on the trip with my kids and I. He went many years ago, so we decided to check it out together. This place has changed so much over the years. They keep changing it after so many years with updates and such.
So Much to See
If you love corn or any products made from corn, you have got to check out this place. Even if you may not enjoy corn, check it out anyways. It is an amazing place to see. You can see displays about the Corn Palace, how the murals are created, souvenirs and entertainment from the past, and how the corn is grown.
Even the outside of the building was made with some corn. How neat is that?! I was very impressed with the outside. It was really neat to be able to see in person. I love seeing things made from corn. I think it’s amazing.
Of course I had to take a photo of the corn statue that was outside across from The Corn Palace building. I thought this was really neat. I’m glad they added this statue. A very cute statue of corn!
Once going inside, you’re going to see a lot of amazing things made from corn. I thought these shoes were really neat. I really love how they made them.
They had a few spots for some photo ops too. I love this display that was made out of corn. Don’t mind my daughters, they are always weird when it comes to photos. They love to make faces when I take their photos. HaHa!
I love seeing all the great photo opportunities here. Anytime we see the ones where you can poke your head through for a fun photo, we always grab a photo. We love doing these.
I loved seeing all the corn husk dolls. My parents use to have some of these when I was little, so this reminded me a lot of that. I think it’s so neat how people can make these.
What I really loved to see, was these displays with cups, vases, plates, etc.
They had a place to order food and drinks as well. There was a lot of food made from corn, like these popcorn balls that my daughters got. Man, they sure were delicious too! I remember having popcorn balls when I was little, so these brought back some memories for me too.
I really enjoyed the souvenir shop that they had inside. They had so many amazing things to buy.
Check out this corn cup we found. Isn’t it neat?! We absolutely loved it. There was so much to see. If you’re ever near The Corn Palace, I hope you’re able to stop. It is a wonderful place to see some amazing items.
