Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup

27 January, 2017 by KatBp 58 Comments

It was warm around here about a week ago, and now it’s getting chilly out again. I honestly can’t wait for summer, because I enjoy the warmer weather. With it being so cold out, I love to cook up something warm to eat for my family. Warm foods are the best to have during winter. They will keep you nice and warm while having a great meal. One of the best foods to make when it’s colder out, is soup. I love having soup, and so does my family. That makes it a lot easier to come up with recipes that we can all enjoy. One of our favorite soups is chicken noodle soup. I could eat this any day! I wanted to make a creamier soup this time since it was something different then what I normally make. I hope that you’ll all love it as well. You’ll see how to make it below.

Ingredients:

1 tbs. Olive Oil

1 Small White Onion

4 Large Carrots

4 Pieces of Celery

2 Garlic Heads

1 tsp. Salt

1/2 tsp. Pepper

1 1/2 Cups Peas

1 Cup Milk

2 tbs. Flour

2 lbs. Chicken

1 Bag of Reames Egg Noodles

8 Cups Chicken Broth

Directions:

First you’re going to want to get a big enough pot for the soup. Put the olive oil in. Heat up the oil in the pan. Then you want to chop up the onion, carrots, celery and garlic. After you have everything chopped up, put them all in the pot along with the salt and pepper. You’ll want to cook that for about 10 minutes.

Then you will want to add in the broth and bring that to a boil. After you have done that, you can add in the egg noodles. Have that simmer for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile you can mix up the flour and milk together. Keep doing that til you don’t have any more chunks. Then you can add in the milk and flour mixture. Have that simmer for about 5 minutes. Then add your peas and chicken. Make sure the chicken is cut up as well.

Now you’re going to want to let this cook for a while. I usually cook mine for about 30 minutes. It may take less time and it may take more. Make sure to check the vegetables to make sure they’re soft and done. That’s usually how I can tell when the soup is done. If you want thicker soup, just let it sit longer while it cools down. If you do have leftovers and you put those away for another day, the soup will be thicker.

Now you have a great comfort food that is sure to keep you warm on a cool day. If you do have leftovers and you put those away for another day, the soup will be thicker. I hope you all ENJOY!

That’s a great recipe. I’ve made chicken soup about a bazillion times at home, but I’ve never tried a creamy variety. I can’t wait to give this recipe a try.
