Environmental Learning and Fun With Adventerra Board Games

My daughters and I always enjoy playing games together. We usually do this at least once a week, if not more. There are so many wonderful board games out there that we love. What we really enjoy, is getting new games to try out. It’s something we love because you get to play something different and you’re not always playing the same thing. Being able to try out new games is both fun and exciting. Recently, we have been able to try four games we’ve never tried before from Adventerra Games.

About

Problem: a recent poll by NPR/Ipso revealed that 80% of U.S. parents wish their kids were learning about climate change.

Solution: in November 2019, Adventerra Games North America launched four board games. Global Warning, Recycle Rally, PowerHaus and WaterGame (all $24.95 MSRP) offer a fun way to empower families to take positive actions to slow climate change. Plus, the games “walk the talk” and are made of sustainable materials.

This family-owned company publishes engaging board games that help kids and their families learn to conserve natural resources and save the planet. — In just a few months their games promoting environmental stewardship have captured 14 national toy industry awards. Academics’ Choice, Tillywig, Hot Diggity Awards, National Parenting Product Awards (NAPPA) and PAL Award happily shared online why they adore this new STEM series. All four games also were certified by STEM.org, whose Authenticated™ Trustmark identifies resources that conform to vetted STEM standards.

WaterGame

WaterGame is very simple but with some very particular characteristics. Cards with simple and intuitive illustrations show the correct habits to adopt to save water in everyday life. Along the way, simple and challenging quizzes accompany the players as they explore the theme of water and its importance!

WaterGame is the game we loved the most. We had so much fun playing this game. This game really teaches you a lot about saving water. I have always been one to save water as much as I can. I don’t like when water runs when you don’t need it to, or really any way that water gets wasted drives me crazy. I’ve always been one who likes to help out the environment in any way possible. That’s why these games are so amazing.

In this game you get to try to be the one to save the most gallons of water. My daughters and I have been having so much fun with this game. In the end, whoever does save the most water, wins the game. It’s not always easy though, because those red cards can make you lose water. You can either gain or lose water. You want to make sure that the jug doesn’t run out of water either. This is definitely a game you want to play with the whole family.

Global Warning

The participants challenge each other to solve the greatest number of environmental problems afflicting the Earth. At each turn, problem cards appear on different environmental issues that, if not resolved with the right solution cards, cause an increase in the earth’s temperature.

Teamwork is needed to win!

Global Warning is another great game. I learned a lot with this one. In all these games you can really learn a lot. What I really enjoyed about this game, was that it was a team work game. Those are some of my favorite games. That means we all get to work together in the game. It was great playing this one with my daughters.

You get to learn so much about the environment. In this game you want to be able to solve all the problems. There are solution cards that can help solve these problems. We all know how many things can really affect the environment, so this is a great game to see what really can affect it and how you can help.

Recycle Rally

The game teaches children how to properly separate waste. And thanks to the possibility of customizing the display board, you can choose the colors of the bins used in your city !!

The rules also feature an advanced game mode, recommended for ages 10 and up.

Recycle Rally was another one my kids really enjoyed. This game can take some time to play, so get ready to spend some time on this one. My daughters and I don’t mind games taking longer, in fact, we love it when a game takes longer. My family is big on recycling too, so this was the perfect game for us. We recycle as much as possible. It irritates me when others don’t recycle when it’s something so simple to do. There are recycling bins all over it seems now, which is wonderful. It’s nice to see when someone recycles. My family heads to the recycling center about once a week with all our recycling.

In this game, everyone is able to use their own vehicles to get the recycling picked up and dropped off. Some are worth more points then others too. You are trying to recycle the most and get the most amount of points to win the game. You can recycle each week, and the more weeks you play, the longer the game. My daughters and I really enjoy going around the board being able to recycle items. We played a three week game since we had three players. That seemed to work out the best for us. During each week, you get different items to recycle too. They all get switched up each week.

PowerHaus

Recommended age: 7+
Powerhaus demonstrates the small steps that can be taken to reduce energy waste in the home … and beyond.

The humorous illustrated cards help children to understand the concepts of energy and its conservation more easily.

PowerHaus is all about saving energy. There are so many ways you can save energy at home. This game is going to teach you about the many ways too. It’s nice to be able to see in what ways you can save energy. I’m so big on helping the environment and saving money, that these games are all so perfect for me. I learned a lot with this game as well. There are many ways you can help save on your energy. This can help you save the environment as well as help cut the cost of your bills too.

In this game you are trying to reduce energy waste. You can move around the board to different places. Each place you have different cards. You want to move around the board and find the best ones that are going to be better on the environment/your wallet. You want to try to reduce those energy bills in this game. This is going to help you win the game. The more you can save, the better!

These Adventerra Games are so much fun!

What I really love about all these Adventerra games, is that they are very educational. Kids can learn a lot from all of these games. I’m an adult, and I learned some new things too. They are so much fun to play as well. Everyone will be able to learn something while having fun playing the games. You can order your own games on Amazon too!
