Falls Park in Sioux Falls, SD

20 July, 2023 by KatBp 26 Comments

Not to long ago, my daughters, father and I went on a vacation to South Dakota. My father was always talking about going down to see Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills and such, that we finally decided to just go this year. With a 10 day notice, we headed out to the Dakotas. By 10 days, I mean my father said we should go this day, and it was literally 10 days away, but we did it. It was one of those spur of the moment trips, and it sure was worth it. Before we got to our destination, we stopped at Falls Park first.

I knew that Sioux Falls was on the way, and I had always heard about the lovely Falls Park, so I wanted to make sure that was one of the first places we stopped before getting to where we wanted to go. I’m so glad we stopped here because it was very beautiful to see. Lots of waterfalls to see, and overall a beautiful scenery.

Even the ducks were enjoying this lovely day. It was really nice to see the ducks swimming around and walking around as well. Some of them would actually come right up to people too. They must be use to so many people stopping by because they didn’t seem afraid at all. I have ducks at home, and even they still get scared of people. This was such a lovely site to see.

There was this building where you could buy souvenirs, but also go to the top of the building and see the view from there. There were a lot of great souvenirs to choose from too. Being able to go all the way to the top to see this great view was one of the highlights from this stop for me. The view was amazing.

Being able to see from so far up was amazing. What a gorgeous view it was. I love when places have buildings you can climb all the way up to the top and get an overview look. You can really see everything much more this way. What a wonderful experience this was.

If you’re ever in or near Sioux Falls, SD, you’ll want to make sure to check out this place. It was so nice to be able to see such a beautiful place. I’m so glad that I was able to stop on my way. It was a little over halfway to our destination, so I knew I had to stop here. It wasn’t that far out of my way either. I always try to stop places on my way to a certain destination if I can. It’s nice to enjoy other places along the way. I’ve always been one to look around the areas before leaving on vacation. You never know what you may miss if you don’t stop somewhere on the way there or home.

This park also includes a cafe, an observation tower, and the remains of an old mill. The park comprises over 128 acres just north of downtown, along the Big Sioux River. Don’t ever miss the opportunity to see this place with all the wonderful waterfalls if you have a chance. It sure is worth checking out.
