Four Things Every Relationship Needs To Thrive

30 March, 2026 by KatBp Leave a Comment

You may have just entered a new relationship, or you could have been with your partner for a good few years. No matter where you are in your relationship cycle, you should always be working together to better this. Think of love as your own personal garden. Plants need attention and love to grow, so does your relationship. Check out the article below to find out more on how your relationship can thrive.

Alone Time

When you are in a committed relationship it is essential you have some alone time. This can be incredibly tricky if you have pets or children that are often getting in the way of this. However, if you are lucky enough to have on hand babysitters then be sure to use them. Don’t forget who you both were before the kids came along, this is still there. You could arrange to go out on a date, perhaps to your favorite place like the cinema or a walk in the woods. Have a chat and see what you both want to do, once you know, get those babysitters booked.

Eye Contact

This one is important in every aspect of life, be it work, education, or even your relationship. Providing someone with the right level of eye contact means you are actively listening to what the other person is saying. It comes across that you care and that they have your undivided attention. Eye contact is one of those things that can seem pretty awkward, but it is also so meaningful. Sit and hold eye contact with your other half, without speaking. It is much harder than you think it might be. However, you will both thank us for it.

Hugs & Kisses

Did you know that a six second hug or kiss can mean the difference between feeling like roommates and feeling like lovers? Yes, just six seconds. That is because when you embrace or when you kiss, the brain is busy releasing oxytocin which then creates that feeling of safety and love between the two of you. So, when your other half gets home later, practice that and perhaps it will lead to other things.

Communication

Finally, every single relationship needs to work on and focus on their communication levels. Without this, there won’t be much of a relationship left after a couple of weeks. There may be times throughout your relationship where you just don’t want to talk to each other, typically following a disagreement. The sooner you guys can get over that, the sooner you can return to your loving selves.

Practice makes perfect, and you might think communication is easy. However, it is one of the hardest aspects of a relationship and many people struggle with it. What you could do is get some advice from experts on platforms such as love in five. Professional relationship counselors provide you with some much needed advice and guidance.

So there you have it, we do hope this article gave you some useful advice and guidance on how to keep the spark alive in your relationship. Every relationship needs work, so keep it up.
