About Friendly Loom

Friendly Loom is a brand by Harrisville Designs, a family-owned and operated business dedicated to preserving the textile heritage of our New Hampshire village. We provide high-quality materials for easy, enjoyable weaving, knitting, and felting projects for all ages and skill levels. Our products encourage creativity, build fine motor skills, and create lasting memories. Proudly made in the USA, Friendly Loom ensures quality craftsmanship for generations of makers.

The traditional metal loom and quality cotton loops are custom made, and are the highest quality out there. Make colorful potholders for your home, as gifts or to sell as a fund-raiser for your school, church, or club. There’s probably someone you know who made potholders on a loom like this when they were a child. It’s one of those wonderful old fashioned inventions still popular and useful today. It’s fun, and easy to do for all ages!

The traditional loom kit has enough quality loops to make 2 potholders and is made of metal, not plastic! The loom’s curved peg design helps the loops stay secure as you weave.

Kit Includes:

  • Sturdy metal traditional loom 7″ x 7″ with 19 pegs on each side
  • Multicolored traditional size cotton loops
  • Metal weaving hook
  • Bind off hook with comfort grip
  • Illustrated instructions

Additional loops sold separately.

Hosting a Party!

I was able to hold a Friendly-Loom crafting party recently, and it was a lot of fun. Everyone had a great time looming and making their very own potholders. This was such a fun craft for all to enjoy. Everyone did such a great job making their very own potholders too. They turned out great! This is something that I would highly recommend to anyone who already loves crafting. We had such a wonderful time. I know everyone is very excited to continue on with making them, and they still are making them today! I already have to get some more loops since we are running out, which is great! I’m glad everyone is having fun crafting.

Looming

I love the cotton loops that you use to make the crafts/potholders. They are very stretchy, making them so much easier to create what you want. You can use the hooks to help, or your hands too. I personally prefer using my hands, but I know others prefer the hook. Using your hands can actually be really therapeutic too. I love it! You can start making other items with these loops as well. I know my daughters and I are especially excited to make other items with these loops. The potholders are just the beginning. I can’t wait to see what everyone else is going to come up with once we get the hang of everything. We already know we have to buy more items so they can make even bigger

Everyone was surprised at how simple it actually is to make one of these potholders. It was a lot of fun getting everyone together for this too. We all enjoy crafting, so it’s nice to be able to do a simple craft like this together. We can all say we have made our very own potholders now too! They turned out so beautiful too! When I say everyone is still making these today, I mean that. They are having a blast! I’m going to order them more loops here soon since they’re having so much fun with it.

This brings back memories of my childhood. I made so many pot holders for my mom.

This fun game also teaches children to be creative in combining colors.

Not a game, but a craft, but yes. It does help with colors.
