I’ve been so excited for the release of Haunted Mansion. I remember seeing the first one that came out years ago, and I loved it. Knowing that I loved that one so much, I knew I had to see this one as well, and it was just as good. It’s always nice that it’s more of a family movie, that way I can see it with my family as well. I’ve always enjoyed spooky movies, so it’s nice to have been able to see this one. What a great movie this was too. I honestly can’t wait to watch it again, especially with my family. There are many family members of mine who are excited for this one too.

Film Synopsis
Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, Haunted Mansion tells the story of Gabbie (Rosario Dawson), a single mom, who discovers that the home she and her son share is haunted by irksome ghosts. Hoping to restore domestic tranquility, Gabbie recruits a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid the house of the supernatural squatters. A non-stop blend of action, adventure and comedy featuring an all-star cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto, Haunted Mansion was written by Katie Dippold and directed by Justin Simien. The film’s producers are Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.

In inspiration of the moving coming out, I thought it would be fun to make this DIY crystal ball. I have always wanted to make a crystal ball, so I thought this would be the perfect timing. I think the movie came out at a great time as well with Halloween coming soon. In the movie there is a crystal ball that Madame Leota is trapped in, so I thought that would go great with this movie.
Haunted Mansion Crystal Ball
Equipment
- Mod Podge
- Paint Brush
Materials
- 1 Round Glass Jar
- Fairy Lights
- Blue Glitter
- Candle Holder
- Skull Head Can find these at Dollar Tree
Instructions
- First you want to take the Mod Podge and dip your paintbrush in it and cover the inside of your jar. Make sure it is all covered good. You won't need a whole lot of the Mod Podge. You just need enough for a small layer on the inside.
- After the Mod Podge is on, sprinkle your glitter around the inside to get it covered. You can put as little or as much as you want inside.
- Now you can start gluing your items inside. I just used a skull head inside because I needed something to resemble a face, and that was one of the closest things I could get to it.
- Now you want to glue on the base if you're wanting to have it glued on. I used a spider candy dish from Dollar Tree that I found. I didn't glue mine on though, I just set it there instead so I can continue to use that again too. You can glue on any base you think looks nice. Candle holders always work great.
- Now you can set your fairy lights inside the jar and turn them on. That is all there is to this. It's very simple, and you can play around with items to see what fits best for you.
