I was recently given the opportunity to review the It’s a Love Game book. A. G. Starling lives in Monterey, California, where she is a college professor. She thinks the competitive spirit between two athletes is a perfect frame for a contemporary romance. This book came to the author from real events, after watching a handsome hunky professional tennis player call for the trainer and receive a massage on the court during a match.
Lizzie plays tennis and is very independent. She’s very good at tennis and wants to win big. Then you have Jack who is also very good at tennis, but he is more of a playboy. He has a girlfriend named Christina. They are not that serious as they think they are though.
Lizzie and Dave team up against Jack and Christina in a tennis match. Lizzie is trying to win the doubles champion. Jack ends up getting leg cramps so the game is called off. That means Lizzie’s chance at winning the champion is also off.
Lizzie and Jack end up suffering injuries at the same time, which makes them have to sit out on a big event. The start to spend a lot more time together and realized that they actually like each other. They even spend time together with Jacks mom. As relationships start to build, other people get in the way. Will Jack and Lizzie end up together as a couple? You will have to read the book to find out.
I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t think I was going to like it because it was about tennis. I’m not a big fan of books about sports. This was more than just tennis, it was about romance as well. I really love romance books, so this book was a great read for me. Hard to set the book down as well.d wants to win big. Then you have Jack who is also very good at tennis, but he is more of a playboy. He has a girlfriend named Christina. They are not that serious as they think they are though.
