Jambo Books Subscription

I’ve always found reading to be extremely important. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved to read. I have enjoyed being read to as a child, and as I grew older, I picked up on reading myself. For me, reading is very relaxing. My youngest daughter absolutely loves to read as well. Her and I are the readers in the family. We love to sit down with a good book. One thing that we have been enjoying a lot, are book subscriptions from Jambo Books. They send a few books a month, and it’s great seeing what they’re going to send to you.

About Jambo Books

Subscribers to the monthly Jambo Book Club receive two beautiful high-quality books at a time that star a child of color in an engaging story. Adding fun multicultural children’s books to a home library is as easy as opening up the mailbox. But as this true story continues, no one could have imagined how critical these vibrant books would become in the Summer and Fall of 2020.

Books for Kids Ages 0-13

Jambo Book Club sends members 2-3 age-appropriate books each month that feature children of color as the stars of their own stories.

Jambo Books show children of color in situations where children’s literature rarely places them – making friends, raising pets, loving grandparents and fighting dragons.

The books arrive with a personalized letter in JambArt boxes beautifully decorated with art that celebrates the joy of childhood.

We love Jambo Books subscription because you never know which books you’re going to get. Kids will get to read some books that they may have never even heard of before. All you have to do to sign up is choose your child’s age or reading level, and Jambo Books does the rest. They’ll select appropriate books for your child’s age and reading level. Then they send these high quality books to your child every month. We got three wonderful books in our subscription box. These were such beautiful quality books too. They were all great books for both of my children. They are both around the same reading level too. My youngest reads at a higher level, so both of my daughters usually enjoy reading the same books.

Forever, or a Long, Long Time

Flora and her brother, Julian, don’t believe they were born. They’ve lived in so many foster homes, they can’t remember where they came from. And even now that they’ve been adopted, Flora still struggles to believe that they’ve found their forever home. Though Flora is trying her best to trust two new people, when she finds out that there will be a new baby, she’s worried that there won’t be enough love for everyone.

So along with their new mother, Flora and Julian begin a journey to go back and discover their past—for only then can they really begin to build their future.

Patina

Ghost. Lu. Patina. Sunny. Four kids from wildly different backgrounds with personalities that are explosive when they clash. But they are also four kids chosen for an elite middle school track team—a team that could qualify them for the Junior Olympics if they can get their acts together. They all have a lot to lose, but they also have a lot to prove, not only to each other, but to themselves.

Patina, or Patty, runs like a flash. She runs for many reasons—to escape the taunts from the kids at the fancy-schmancy new school she’s been sent to ever since she and her little sister had to stop living with their mom. She runs from the reason WHY she’s not able to live with her “real” mom any more: her mom has The Sugar, and Patty is terrified that the disease that took her mom’s legs will one day take her away forever. And so Patty’s also running for her mom, who can’t. But can you ever really run away from any of this? As the stress builds, it’s building up a pretty bad attitude as well. Coach won’t tolerate bad attitude. No day, no way. And now he wants Patty to run relay…where you have to depend on other people? How’s she going to do THAT?

We’re Adopted, So What?

Being a teenager is tough. When you factor in the complexities and challenges of being adopted, it is exponentially harder. The graphic-style book, We’re Adopted. So What? features five teen girls who share a huge thing in common: each of them was adopted. This shared experience draws them together yet the distinctions between their experiences are as unique as their personalities. Feisty, fun and outspoken, the girls tackle some tough topics.

They share their thoughts and feelings being adopted, how adoption shapes their world and relationships, creates challenges, burdens them with curiosity, frustration, anger, and grief, and shows how they strive to blend together their biological and their adoptive worlds.

We now recognize that connection to and respect for an adopted child’s biological roots is integral to an adoptee’s ability to successfully unify their dual heritage. Still, the concept of openness remains shrouded in apprehension, confusion, and curiosity. How is it possible for a child to have two sets of parents involved in their lives? Against this backdrop of openness, how do teens in international or “traditional closed” adoptions, feel about and deal with their lack of connection with birth families?

Jambo Books is such an amazing subscription service. If your kids love to read, I’d highly recommend checking them out. It’s nice that they get different books with each subscription. This is great for those looking to read different types of books too. My kids love that they get a different book to read and the fact that they don’t know what books are coming. The way they get surprised with books is what they really love. My kids love getting surprised when it comes to items. I know my kids love reading about all kinds of things, so this has been a wonderful subscription for them.

This sounds like a great subscription, I think there is nothing quite like learning to love reading when you are a child and just escaping to different locations.

These are the type of books that I’m looking for my kids. This is more appropriate than the books I’ve got them before. I love how this book gives the good side of positivity on how things should be handled. I need to have these books ASAP!

I love this idea and hope parents gift their kids a book subscription. Reading is so important and if your child is like mine he gravitates towards a certain type of book. This service gives him the opportunity to give other books a chance.
