Kids Bored This Summer? What to Do.

22 June, 2018 by KatBp 20 Comments

I’m bored! We all here this from kids, right? Kids seem to say it often and parents don’t like to hear it. Get rid of boredom this summer with these great activities.

“I’m bored!”

How many times do you hear your kids say this? I work from home, so I hear this all the time from my daughters. Luckily this year they have been lucky enough to have their cousins over often since I watch them while my sister in law is working. There are still days when you’ll hear all the kids talk about how bored they are.

If you’re looking for some great activities to do together, I’ve made a list of some great things to do this summer. These will be great for when your kids or other kids you may be watching say they’re bored. There is a list of both indoor and outdoor activities.

Indoor Activities:

  • Bake Cookies
  • Play Board Games
  • Put Puzzles Together
  • Build a Fort
  • Make Ice Cream
  • Make Homemade Playdough
  • Go to the Library
  • Have a  Movie Night
  • Visit a Museum
  • Make Popsicles
  • Go Bowling
  • Mail a Letter to Someone
  • Make Root Beer Floats
  • Do Some Crafts
  • Have a Sleepover With Friends
  • Have a Puppet Show

Outdoor Activities:

  • Have a Picnic
  • Go to the Park
  • Have a Water Balloon Fight
  • Camp in Your Backyard
  • Have a Water Gun Fight
  • Run Through the Sprinkler
  • Lemonade Stand
  • Bubbles
  • Treasure Hunt
  • Bike Riding
  • Go Fishing
  • Go to the Zoo
  • Create an Obstacle Course
  • Catch Some Bugs
  • Play With Chalk
  • Set up a Slip N Slide

There are so many activities to do with kids to keep them from getting bored. There are always some kind of activities you can do just by staying home with your kids. I hope this list will help some of your kids keep busy this summer without getting bored.

I’m going to print this list and post it on the refrigerator. I usually put my kids to work if they tell me they’re bored.

This is a great list of activities. I’ve always tried to avoid the dreaded “I’m bored”. A. A bored kid is a kid who gets in trouble. B: Boredom means they’re minds aren’t working.

I love lists like this because it gives me a big variety to choose from. Last time my kids were bored we pulled out some small PVC pipes and did a marshmallow fight!

My kid is always hollering that she’s bored. This is a great list! I think we’re going to try building a fort and having a picnic.
