Our responsibilities to our children are many but few are as important as seeing them become smarter than we are. I must distil all my experiences so they can learn the lessons that I struggled with, quickly. Theta brain waves are responsible for learning, memory, and controlling attention. Between years 2 and 7 of a child’s life, they are in theta. Starting education early will give your child a boost for their entire life.
The following are options for early childhood education:
- In-home Care is when you instruct your child or a provider to visit and help teach at home. Best habits are started and supported at home.
- Liverpool Early Learning Centre Provides all-day care if needed and an educational process to develop your child’s young mind.
- Occasional Care consists of a nonroutine provider for short periods.
- Government or Community Preschool, where available, can get your child started before kindergarten.
- Family Daycare is provided in the carer’s home.
- Playgroups in your local community can develop social skills through playing. Parents also get to meet and share experiences.
- Religious Organisations instil excellent moral standards and social readiness.
You know life can throw many things at you. Your child will significantly benefit from learning resilience, teamwork, cooperation, independence, emotional control, literacy, and numeracy early. Standards must be set and maintained by any company that is educating children. Perform your due diligence and look for;
- A curriculum that meets goals for your child’s education
- The natural environment exposes children to the wonders of nature.
- Great nutrition has to be provided not sugar-loaded junk food.
- Safety and Security must be a high priority.
- Is the centre accredited?
- Play learning with other children
Territory and State governments are responsible for the well-being, safety, health, and education of children. There are subsidies available for childcare assistance. If your child has additional needs there is an Inclusion Support Program for tailored support. This will ensure they have the opportunity to develop alongside their peers.
These pillars of the educational process are requisites of effective adults;
- Critical thinking is the ability to assess and analyse what you say, hear, read, or write.
- Creativity is imagination and creates original thoughts.
- Communication is essential for all levels of life.
- Collaboration will be required in future employment and relationship building.
- The character describes the distinctive qualities of a person.
If a learning centre isn’t promoting these attributes in its curriculum, you should keep looking for one that does. Setting a daily routine early will prepare your child for life in general. The learning centre you choose should support that with a defined educational daily schedule. It will prepare a child’s mind for engagement and preparedness.
The trouble with education centres that meet all of these criteria is that they are very busy. A decent child-to-staff ratio must be maintained or children will be lost in the masses. Under 2 years of age should be 4 to 1. At age two it will increase to 5 to 1. Larger groups may be instructed together but the ratio is vital to your child receiving the attention and guidance you are looking for.
Keep up your end with lots of love and your child is on the right track.
