Mals Sprinkled Candy Apples-Descendants 2

18 August, 2017 by KatBp 38 Comments

How many of you have seen the first Descendants movie that came out a while ago? If you have seen that one, than you may know that they just released Descendants 2 not long ago. If you loved the first one, than I’m sure you’re going to love the second one just as much.

In Descendants 2 the villain kids are back and the stakes are even higher in the highly anticipated sequel to the Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants”! The story deepens in the music-driven sequel to the global smash hit “Descendants,” as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains try to find their place in idyllic Auradon. When the pressure to be royally perfect becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town.  Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.

Synopsis: The story deepens in the music-driven sequel to the global smash hit “Descendants,” as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay (also known as Villain Kids or VKs) — try to find their place in idyllic Auradon.

Since this movie just came out, I wanted to make a recipe that would go well with this movie. I decided to make some sprinkled candy apples that went with Mals purple and green colors.

Ingredients:

4 Apples

1/2 Cup Water

1 cup Sugar

1/4 cup Corn Syrup

Purple and Green Sprinkles

Craft Sticks

Food Coloring (I use the gel kind from Wilton)

The first thing you’re going to want to do, is to get your four apples out and poke the sticks at the top. You can use any kind of sticks you want. I used some craft sticks  you can find in a craft isle. You also want to put some wax paper down on a baking sheet and set the apples there.

Next you’re going to want to pour the sugar, water and corn syrup in a pot. Put the heat on medium high. If you have a candy thermometer, this would work best to tell the temperature. You want it to be at about 300 degrees Fahrenheit. You’ll be able to notice it starting to form too if you don’t have a candy thermometer.

I then added in the food coloring. I think the gel coloring works a lot better than the normal food coloring. You can use either though. You don’t really have to use any colors either if you don’t want too. The sprinkles will end up covering a lot of it up anyways.

Next you’re going to roll the apples around in the mixture. Right after you want to sprinkle the sprinkles over the apples before the mixture starts to harden. It will harden quick too. You have to be fast about this.

I hope that you enjoy my recipe as well as the movie! If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, make sure to grab it when you can!

How many of you have seen this movie? What did you think of it?
