Movie #22 is Babe

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About Babe

Academy Award® winner and Best Picture nominee, Babe is the inspirational story of a shy Yorkshire piglet who doesn’t quite know his place in the world. But when Farmer Hoggett (James Cromwell) wins him at the county fair, Babe discovers that he can be anything he wants to be—even an award-winning sheepdog! With the help of a delightful assortment of barnyard friends, the heroic little pig is headed for the challenge of his life in this endearing and fun-filled tale the whole family will love.

I thought I had seen the movie Babe when I was younger, but after seeing it with my daughters, I’m not so sure I actually saw the whole movie. I’m glad I was able to see this one with my daughters though. It is a bit of a sad movie too. We decided to go with some fruit for this movie since we know pigs love all kinds of food, especially fruit. Although pigs pretty much eat anything, we wanted to go with some good healthy fruit this time.

We thought this was a pretty good movie, even though it was a bit sad at times. It was nice seeing Babe do something pigs don’t do, which is become a sheepdog. I’ve always thought this was a great lesson for others to believe in what they believe in and go for it. A pig usually doesn’t act as a sheepdog, but Babe did it, and he did it well. Such a great lesson and a great story too.

Have you ever seen this movie before? This is probably one that I’m sure many have already seen, because I know it was a pretty big movie many years ago. If not, it is worth the watch at least. I think it would be great for kids to see, even though it’s a bit sad. They can learn a bit from this movie too. You can always grab a copy of this movie off AMAZON too.
