Movie #25 is My Girl

13 April, 2025 by KatBp 24 Comments

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About My Girl

Vada Sultenfuss is an intelligent, bubbly, hypochondriacal 11-year-old girl. Her father, Harry (Dan Aykroyd), is a mortician and widower. Her best friend is Thomas J. Sennett. Then Harry hires a new receptionist named Shelly DeVoto, and life will never be the same again.

I have seen My Girl many times, and I love it so much. This has got to be one of my favorite movies. I was so excited for this one with my daughters because I knew they were going to love it as well. For this movie, I went with some potato salad, pretzels, burgers and chips. There was a scene in My Girl where they all had these during a cookout, so I thought it would go great for the movie. Everyone loved it too.

I’m sure many of you have seen My Girl before, and if not, I highly recommend seeing it. This has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it. I was so happy to be able to share this one with my daughters. I just knew it was going to be something we could all enjoy together. It is a bit of a sad movie though too, so keep that in mind.

Have you ever seen this movie before? I would love to know what you think of it. I hope you all love this movie as much as I do. I still remember seeing it for the first time and I loved it, yet also thought it was a really sad movie towards the end. Those who have seen it will know what I mean. Such a great movie though! You can grab a copy of AMAZON.

I have actually not seen this movie! I have heard a lot about it though, and there always seems to be a lot of references to it. I’ll have to watch it sometime. The main actress was in a big movie recently, although I forget which one.
