Movie #8 is The Flintstones

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About The Flintstones

The Flintstones and the Rubbles are modern stone-age families. Fred and Barney work at Slate and Company, mining rock. Fred gives Barney some money so he and Betty can adopt a baby. When Fred and Barney take a test to determine who should become the new associate vice president, Barney returns the favor by switching his test answers for Fred’s, whose answers aren’t very good. Fred gets the executive position, but little realizes that he’s being manipulated by Cliff Vandercave to be the fall guy for an embezzlement scheme.

If you have been following along, you’ll know that I always make food to go with each movie. My daughters and I have fun coming up with what we should eat along with each movie. As you all probably know, we love to do charcuterie boards with our movies. This time we went with some fries, hot dogs and fruit. We thought this might be good to go with this since they had a drive in where they had some kind of foods similar. Sometimes it’s difficult to decide what to make for the boards, but we thought this would go well with it.
I first watched The Flintstones when I was younger. I’ve always loved watching the cartoon version, so I had always wanted to see the movies they came out with as well. My daughters already knew about The Flintstones, but they had never see the movie before. This was a great one to enjoy together as a family. My daughters loved it, and I still love the movie to this day too. The Flintsones have always been about family, so it’s a great one to see with your family as well.

This is a movie I’d highly recommend if you haven’t seen it yet, especially if you love The Flintstones. I’m always glad to be able to share these movies with my daughters. I was especially glad to be able to watch this one together. A great movie as always. You can always grab the movie off AMAZON too.

I remember seeing this movie back when it first came out. I really liked John Goodman and Rosie O’Donnell’s performances!

Now I need to rewatch this one. I originally saw it in the theatre with my dad, I think my daughter would enjoy this one as well.

What a fun tradition! Matching movie snacks with the theme adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. Fries, hot dogs, and fruit sound like the perfect accompaniments for a drive-in movie night!
