Have you been watching Bloodline Detectives? These are the kinds of shows that I love to watch. It’s very sad to see all these stories, but interesting to hear about them as well. I grew up watching many shows similiar to this, so I’ve always been interesting in hearing about these stories by watching the t.v. shows. Bloodline Detectives is a newer one that I’ve been recently interested in.
About BLOODLINE DETECTIVES
BLOODLINE DETECTIVES takes viewers behind the scenes of cold cases as detectives solve years-old murder investigations using two kinds of technology: genetic genealogy and familial searching. Detectives can harness these techniques to pinpoint an unknown criminal’s relatives and then trace their “bloodline” or family tree to reveal the killer, as used in high-profile cases such as The Golden State Killer and The Grim Sleeper.
Summary
Interviews with family members, police, and others who help solve cold cases by the use of Familial DNA. When DNA is left at crime scene, and the usual ways of identifying the suspect leads no where, Familial DNA comes in to play. Familial DNA is taking the DNA from the crime scene and using DNA that people have submitted to genealogy sites to see if there is someone who is a close match. From there genealogist can figure out who the suspect should be, and police can then make an arrest. Piers Gibbon is the narrator for the show.
