I’m heading in to week three of the no sugar challenge. If you don’t know what this is about, check out my first post about the 30 day no sugar challenge. This is a 30 day challenge that I started at the beginning of January. That means I’m half way through now, and entering my third week on the challenge. Things have definitely gotten a lot easier since I first started this challenge.
When I first started with the challenge, the first few days were extremely difficult for me, but I continued anyways. Around day 4-5 it got a whole lot easier. I was finding some great meals to try out, I started feeling like I even had more energy, and I wasn’t as hungry as I normally am. Usually I get hungry every couple of hours. Since starting this challenge, I have not only been hungry for my three meals a day. I hard even snack on anything because I’m usually not hungry.
I came in to this challenge mainly to start eating healthier. I wasn’t looking to lose weight (although I have already), but I just want to be able to eat healthy and love it. I’ve been trying out a lot of different recipes too. Sometimes I have to come up with something different on my own as well, and it’s actually fun trying to find new recipes and give them a try. You never know what healthier versions of foods you may actually enjoy.
One thing I have been eating a lot of lately, is taco salad. I make my own homemade taco seasoning and then I use lettuce, tomatoes, sheep cheese and grass fed beef. In this challenge there are only a couple cheeses that you can actually have, and that’s goat or sheep cheese. I prefer sheep cheese myself, and it is really amazing. I love it!
I recently decided to give spaghetti squash a try, and it turns out that I actually really like it. I’m not usually much of a squash person, but once I baked this and added sheep cheese and peppers to it, it was amazing. I also added in some spices like salt, pepper and garlic powder. I have to say that this was a big surprise to me. I was not sure how I’d feel about the squash, but I really do like it.
Just the other day I was starting to feel like I was getting sick of some of the same old foods, so I decided to give something new a try. I was never really a big pancake eater in the first place, but I wanted something different, so I made some buckwheat pancakes. I ended up making the last few with some Lily’s sugar free chocolate chips because they needed more flavor, and that made a huge difference. They are actually amazing with the chocolate chips added in. Yum!
I even gave chia pudding a try, which I honestly wasn’t to sure about this one. This is a really simple to make too. It’s great for breakfast or a snack. It turns out that I actually enjoyed it a lot. For my recipe, I only used four ingredients. I used chia seeds, vanilla, unsweetened almond milk and monk fruit. Without the monk fruit, it didn’t really have much of a flavor, so I recommend adding that.
I’ve been noticing a lot of changes here and there throughout this challenge. I’m going to continue with this challenge through the end of the month. I know after being half way through already that I can do this. Only a couple more weeks to go! I already know I want to make some changes after this challenge is over. I’m going to add in more fruits and veggies, but eat less of them. I’m hoping to stay away from sugar as much as possible as well. I know that if I were to go back, it probably wouldn’t end so well. Lets hope I can continue on with a healthier journey.

My oldest taught me to make my own taco seasoning too and it’s so good. He has become quite a great cook and I Love when he comes to visit. 🙂 His wife said he does the majority of the cooking at home too, and she loves it, lol. I don’t blame her a bit.

Homemade taco seasoning is so much better, and so easy to make.
That chocolate chips looks absolutely delicious and tasty! Can’t wait to try it!
They are really good for having no sugar in them. I actually love them a lot.
Those meals look great. I would like to try buckwheat pancakes. Good luck with the rest of your no-sugar challenge!
Thanks! Just a couple weeks to go now. I know I can do it.
I think that spaghetti squash would be really great to try! It look so good!
It really is! I was amazed at how much I actually liked it.
Week three and going strong! These recipes look absolutely delicious!
Yes! Some days are harder than others, but I’m going through with it the whole month.
I eliminated sugar (not fruit) from my diet several years ago. I feel much better and more balanced.
It’s amazing how much better you can feel from eliminating sugar.
I think this is something I need to try, but with so many others in the house it would be difficult.
I have three others in the house, and I’m still sticking to it. They all just eating whatever on their own or I’ll cook them something else. Honestly when I first started it was hard, but it has become really easy now.
This is something that I have done for years, there are times that I have gone off the wagon. I really need to do this.
I have noticed so many changes. I actually am enjoying this so much more.
I plan to try the no-sugar challenge as soon as I finish a big project. I am compiling my list of foods.
That’s so great to hear. It truly does make a big difference. I’m so glad I stuck with it.
This is a good and healthy challenge. I’ve started it this week!
Awesome to hear! It has changed so much for me in the first half already.
Oh, wow! Good for you. Keep it up and I hope you’ll make it through the end. Best of luck.
Thanks! I sure hope so too.
Oh this is great! You’d feel so much better after…I’ve been on a lowcarb way of eating since 2019 and don’t crave on sugar anymore…
I’m not sure about buckwheat flour though, I only know coconut flour and almond flour to be safe.
Keep it up!
Thanks! I’m going to be getting some almond flour here soon to give more recipes a try.
