Peeps Nests

Ingredients:

  • Bird Peeps
  • Rice Krispies
  • Marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Jellybeans or Easter M&M’s
  • Frosting

This can get a bit messy since we’re using Rice Krispies treats to make the nest. What I did was make Rice Krispie treats like you would normally make them. I mixed the Rice Krispies, marshmallows and butter (make sure to melt the butter and marshmallows before mixing them in). I didn’t spread them in a pan this time since I’m making the actual nests.

I used a cupcake pan to get the shape of the nests. I took a spoon to make them as round as I could.

Next I added some frosting to the nests. The reason I do this is so that the jelly beans or m&m’s will stick better that way they don’t fall off when you eat them.

I then added the jelly beans. These are suppose to represent the bird eggs. You can use other small candles like the Easter M&M’s as well.

Next you add the bird Peeps on top. Then you’re all finished.

This is a very easy recipe but can definitely get messy because of the Rice Krispies. My daughters and I really enjoyed making these together. It was a great recipe to make with them.

These are cute and a fun idea for the young ones to help out to make! They can drop the eggs into each nest and attach each bird (peep) on top!
