National Random Acts of Kindness Day is coming up on February 17th. This is a movement which is growing in popularity across the US and potentially needed more than ever during the COVID-19 era. I’m excited for this day myself. I think it’s great to do random acts of kindness whenever you can. It’s even better that they have a day dedicated to this. With all that has been going on around the world, we could all use some kindness.

Surprise Your Loved Ones

One simple and low-cost way to remind others that you care is by surprising loved ones with their favorite Sour Punch and Red Vines candy as a unique way to demonstrate “I care about you.” If you want to spread the love a little further, why not gift a neighbor you’ve not spoken to for a while or drop a package off to a local healthcare worker? The idea is to consciously make an effort to do nice things for others during the 17th February, and share your random acts on social using the hashtag #RandomActsOfKindnessDay – it can be as straightforward as a compliment.

Gifting the Neighbors

I am very excited for Random Acts of Kindness day. I’m going to have my kids get together something for some of our neighbors. I think getting a fun treat basket with some of the Sour Punch and Red Vines products will make a great basket for our neighbors. I’m sure they’re going to really appreciate this as well. We have many other things planned as well. There is so much you can do to be kind towards others. You can simply tell them how nice they look or gift them a little gift or treat. It doesn’t even have to be anything, but a compliment to make them feel great.

Some Ideas for Random Acts of Kindness

  1. Give Someone a Gift Basket (Include Some Sour Punch and Red Vines)
  2. Give Someone a Compliment
  3. Pay For the Person in Front of you
  4. Donate to a Food Shelf
  5. Write Someone a Letter
  6. Help Carry Someone’s Groceries
  7. Pick Up Litter
  8. Tip Someone
  9. Say Hello to Anyone You Pass By
  10. Phone a Friend or Loved One
  11. Volunteer Somewhere
  12. Open the Door for Someone

One small act of kindness can really help make someone’s day. My family does a lot of random acts of kindness throughout the year. Whether it’s having others keep the change to give back to someone else, or donating toys and food to those in need, it all helps. Just to see the smile on someone’s face when you do an act of kindness is what I love to see. It brings so much joy.

A kind word every day is something we all can manage.
Random acts of kindness remind me to be kind to someone I do not know, yet can be respectful of and kind.

I like the idea of random acts of kindness. I don’t like all of this pay it forward stuff, when many of us can barely afford to pay for our own stuff. When you do something kind, you shouldn’t post it on social media or call the news crews to show off what you’ve done. Unfortunately, that’s the trend these days, but doing small things to be nice can really cheer up someone’s day, both the giver and the recipient.
